LOL at Nizmozed. The problem when you are pasionate about giving people quality is it takes time, and you cant just employ gong beaters to do the work for you or answer the phone as people want to speak to the boss anyway. Freddy is on his own and has been for a while. It means he will concentrate on the work, not the phone. Answering the phone takes you away from getting stuff done. I know this all to well. So what would you have him do. Sit at the desk answering the phone or get the work done that people have paid for. Hmm. a no brainer really Ohh and Mitch. you will get your stuff no doubt. And you will have a big smile when you do. My car is covered with his stuff and it is in his workshop now getting even more shit done. One of the best guys I know.

Gareth there are some events that only road registered cars or log booked cars can enter. Must be due to insurances or something. The bathurst challenge is one of those events. So a car like mine that has neither of those things cant play. Basically having a log book means cams know someone has looked at the car and says its ok to compete. Thanks for the tip on RC dat2kman
-
Yeah i will get the local guy up soon to get the ball rolling. personally i dont care what class they put it in. Just want the book. 2a is what its looking like though
-
Will have to reserch what class i can Get my car Logbooked in
-
Same rule for the regularity Richard?
-
This year is out for me. But i definetly will be doing the Bathurst Chalenge next year. Sprint class if i can. Does the car need Cams Logbook to enter sprint class?
-
Richard i could get it in Sports cars class yes. Ive had a guy look at it. The winters is a 10" crown wheel. I didn't need to cut the floor, had to section out the upper cross member though but that was due to the quick change part. Maybe the 9" housing is bigger.
-
Yeah Winters quick change

Well lads there is no real rest with a car like this. Finally addressing the R200 longnose. Ive found although it hasnt broken it just isnt up to the acceleration rate the car is putting out. I may be wrong but the car has had a strange rear vibration that i cant find. everything is replaced except the R200, But when i changed from the 3.9 to the 3.3 it was better. So total diff change now to eleviate it. Also ive just dropped the car off to Topstage for some front and side aero updates. Cheers

Guy please be aware that every job the cost will be totally different. Over the last few years we have done a few HKTG Monaro's. One was low 30. the other is 90 and still going. We have another in the shop now at early stages and another in soon. They will all be different due to the configurations the owners want, The Modifications they want, The amount of rust and previous bad workmanship and also the level of finish they want. So how is what George has spent on his car relevant to what you will spend on your car. It cant be. From my business point of view and I tell this to all my customers. I don't care one bit what your car costs, All I care about is giving you the car YOU want. The minute George is standing next to his car the money outlaid will be forgotten. This is always the case. Its always harder for our interstate customers as they cant just drop in and look. Pictures can only do so much. Cheers

Please understand lads the panels are free sitting with rubber blocks for transport. so with the latches etc on they will be perfect. Gareth we used as much of 19 as we possibly could, entire floor front to back, except aftermarket pans under seats, just like any other Z restoration. Firewall and some of the cowl area. front inner guards. but we used aftermarket rails. Parts of the rad support. The roof rails etc were from another car. The 1/4 panels were new old stock. So to be honest there is a lot more of the actual 19 than you would have thought. Cost wise, well every car is different, every owners requirements are different. We have done 2 HG style Monaro's in the last few years. 1 was 30k the other is 90 and still going. I told George from the start this car was not financially viable to save. He was adamant that it was worth it. So it has cost substantially more than a normal rusty Z as you could imagine. We have a chassis jig for the Z yes. we have since put another early car on it and it lines up well within factory tolerances. George will be getting a visit in the next few weeks. I'm sure he is as excited to see it as I am to get it to him. Has been an epic restoration to this point and someone has a lot of work to do. Cheers Lads

Jeff it was a slow lap to be honest, probably why it looked good LOL. Definetly getting more confortable in the seat. Lurch its the total opposite to SMSP. Easy to get used to and hard to master. im still a fair way from mastering it thats for sure. I would say a 1:09 isnt far away. Getting ready now for the Adelaide Motorsport Festival. Will be a lot of fun. Lots of old school race cars.
-
LOL, it sits on around 1 bar. we are just using the gate spring. Now I'm getting used to it we will do some boost per gear and crank it up a bit in the higher gears. So yeah, Call me Pussy. LOL.
-
Thanks lads. Got bugger all hot laps in due to red flags. Was really getting frustrated to be honest. When you have very little track knowledge it was impossible for me to do a great time. I was focusing on straight and turn 1. The rest was just the way i had to go to get back to the straight. Car was awesome and performance was faultless. Will be some good vids coming up soon Cheers Paul

In my defense George all our customers think the assembly is the easy and quick part. Little do they know it takes longer than the body restoration, Unless its as bad as your car was. Still cant believe how good it looks compared to when it arrived. Cant wait for you to see it. Thanks also lads for the kind words re the work on the car. As Jeff said without Georges commitment to this car it was surely destined for the scrap heap.
-
Thanks chaps. How long you in adelaide for Jeff

Yeah Jeff the car is the flavour of the month at the moment. Was the most uncomfortable ove felt for a while in front of the camera. http://www.worldtimeattack.com/index.php/beautiful-obsession-the-z-car-of-dreams/

Thanks lads. Yeah i need to lift my game to suit the car now. Richard im sure there is a smother way to do most of the track, realistaclly im a plonker with a fast car. Some shifts i blip but most i dont. Process i use is brake hard for half the distance then start shifting so its not going to overrev engine. Seems to be ok like that. Yes peter you gave me what i asked for but with 200kw more than i expected. Thanks alot. I will never be lowndsey so im not going to try. Its fuckin great fun thats for sure More vids soon
-
Jeff your welcome to put vids up if you see them. As is everyone else. Sometimes i just forget. Was hoping Peter was going to get some external video but he was to busy enjoying the noise. The videos dont do any justice to the note of the car

Hey Chaps, Well ive got some new hardcore axles in thanks to MadDat Motorsport. Peter Mc flew over to put the car on a Hub dyno as we get no traction on a chassis dyno. Sorted out a missfire then the next day went to Mallala for some laps. The missfire came back but we were un able to diagnose it on the day. So i was limmited to 5500rpm. Bloody thing still goes hard. We have since looked at the data log with help from the guys at Motec and Les Collins and discovered our Oil Pressure safty parametres are a little to close so this has been remedeed we hope. This is a Half lap vid. Enjoy, Short shift central.
