  1. Guys I flooded my zed...any advice
  2. I ran my 280zx at Morgan park a few years back. I pushed kinda hard for a few laps. Coolant temp was fine and as I was driving the oil pressure was ok. But as I finished and allowed my revs to drop so did the oil pressure. To the point where it wasn't even registering on the gauge. So I decided when I was planning my 240z build I would take extra precautions. Including an oil cooler and larger sump. Seems to do the trick for me.
  3. Monday is not a good night for me either. I can't believe you guys aren't watching Top Gear???
  4. guys, I am currently running an L28 with EFI and I have a sandwich plate with a front mounted oil cooler. I'm just wondering. If I were to add a supercharger or turbo would I run the oil directly from the sandwich plate or from the oil cooler (ie pre cooler or post cooler) Or am I on the wrong track entirely?
  5. Welsh plugs? What are welsh plugs and do I need them? Is that why I go through so much coolant?
  6. Yeah, Great work...brings back lots of memories...
  7. Maybe UniverseZcar.com
  8. Welcome, Looks like you've done a great job so far. Most of us are Aussies with a few internationals thrown in (a few Kiwis and Tasmanians......That should get them going....yeah yeah I know Tasmainia is part of Au ) Its a shame you won't be able to go on the drives with us. Keep us up to date with the progress and plans.
  9. Yeah, I agree. However if you are serious about a project and space isn't a problem then buy it. 260z parts are so handy to have on tap! So far I have wrecked 2 260z and 3 280zx. But I don't think I'd be tempted to use that one as the project.
  10. I agree with the principle. Racing on a budget is fun. But theres no need to wait for a 3K category. You just have to set your own budget and be diciplined enough to stick to it. It also means putting yourself up against oponents with a similar car or budget and ignoring the hords that seem to have endless bank accounts.....You just can't compete against those cars.
  11. is that two tone? (white on Silver) or is it just the photos. The spoiler is a home made job. Just a piece of Aluminium bent around the front with some holes cut in and a piece of rubber along the bottom.....Not a fan. Make me think I wouldn't like the rest of the car either???
  12. well I guess Y is only one letter of Z. But I'd like to shove their Y up their A
  13. I've had a few people call mine a 120Y

    Starter Motor...

Mate, I don't know about a new one. But Auto electricians can do wonders with starters and alternators. find one from the wreckers and get them to recondition it. They turn out just like new.
  16. Here is what it looks like now. A few fibrelgass panels, some black paint on the grill, match the colour of the air dam, fit a red spoiler and I'll be very close.
  17. I don't think this will surprise anyone. But I want my 240z to look like this. The original BRE 240z!!! I'm getting closer every week.
  18. mine are 16s. Might make a difference in availability
  19. Yup that is true. I have a set of Khumos and they are great but cost is the issue. They are more expensive and don't last anywhere near as long as road tyres. I can't afford to be buying R spec tyres every six months. As it is just using them on track days they'll only last two seasons. But if you can afford to good luck to you. By the way what are the details for the shop? The place I went to is more expensive (i think, hard to tell cause the ones I got were 225s)
  20. do you still have the rear calipers from a series 2? If so how much for a pair?
  21. Watch out around his place. Particularly if he suggests an inspection on the hoist!!
  22. Firstly this is all blank.

    Metric speedometer

Hey guys. I did the 260 speedo into a 240z also. Worked well for me. On a side note I also put a 280zx Tacho in the 240z housing. See here for details: http://www.thezgarage.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1289&highlight=tacho
  24. I have spare 260z and 240z dashs. I am considering a fiberglass copy of them. Just need more time.
