Thanks Gav, I will have to see if i can get under the dash and have a better look.. i had assumed lime green was the colour on the inside of the door and stopped looking for hints after that. HS30 00212 At least the vinyl is from what i can tell, a dealer fitted option and unmolested.. so if every other trace of it has been removed, i can find it under there..

Hi Guys, was the lime green (112) offered on 1970's 240z's? I am trying to work out what mine would have originally been (its a Honda NSX metallic green now).. the only reference i have found was an old waZregister entry saying it was 112.. though the US sites seem to show indicate that this colour was only offered in 72/73? I havn't pulled the car apart sufficiently to get any real indicator of the colour.. just finding a lot of peeling paint from the primer thanks to the the previous owners "restoration". Disaster of a job.. worse case and absolute last resort, i have a vinyl roof.. i am sure i will find some of the original colour under there.. hopefully its more paint than rust

Hi Guys, I have a set of Globe Bathurst wheels (seem to be originals not copies) with tyres that still seem to have decent tread off my 240Z. I have replaced the wheels and just don't have the space to hold onto the old ones. The wheels are in fair condition and come with the globe center caps (although some tabs are broken), Tyres are is good condition with some life still left in the tread. The wheels are 14x7 with 215/65/14 Tyres. It is unclear what the offset is (i can't decipher their stamps - Maybe 0?) the stamps are attached Sold thanks guys

Really keen to see some reviews on the above kits.. i need to get a full set for my early 240z at some point. Mind you i got a quote from MSA for some small parts but included the inner and outer door window scraper.. it turned a USD$70 USPS shipping quote (which in itself is stupid for the small items i am after) into a USD$193 fedex job... Not a kit, but new old car company sell a couple of rubber parts for the Z.. i just got their bumper overriders.. haven't fitted yet, but they look OK on the face of it edit - Just as an FYI.. rubber finish is average with lots of uneven edges, The front and rear bumper rubbers and front overrider rubbers fitted well.. the rear bumper over-rider bumpers though.. those were a complete waste of money.. the bolts line up (although one of them snapped off without much pressure), they are too long at the top bend.. not sure if later cars have bigger overriders.. but they don't work for the early 240z's. Going to have to try and find a new source for my rear overriders now.. my original ones did not make it through removal

hahaha, everyone told me not to be stupid and not bother putting 45's on a L24.. even though i already had them... maybe they really meant to go for a 3.1L Thanks for the Pic's Cozza that looks almost do-able how is it bolted up to the underneath of the manifold, or is it actually just jammed in (As you said)?

Hi Guys, I am looking at fitting a set of triple 40DCOE webers onto my early 240Z, and i know i need a heat shield to protect them from the heat underneath. Does anyone happen to have a template that i can use to have one made up in aluminium/steel ? I don't get that much time to mess with my car (and my car is not normally local), so any shortcuts i can find help! I found that RHDJapan sell the Kameari one for around $100 but shipping brings it up to around $140. ouch.. something like this one looks great : http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/45578-universal-triple-carb-heat-shield/?do=findComment&comment=417767 thanks guys

Thanks guys, but i was looking for a local source in Australia to get around the ludicrous shipping prices for a small bit of metal I unfortunately don't have the tools to make one up myself and the cost in labour to do so would likely be more than buying from the US If push comes to shove i will get it from the US

Hi Guys, i am looking to install a set of 40DCOE webers along with a carter rotary pump (and FPR) on my series 1 240Z (with the original L24). Does anyone know where in australia (or online) i can buy a blanking plate to cover the hole left when i remove the mechanical fuel pump? Thanks Kent

Cars For Sale (3rd Party Sites) Ebay, Carsales etc..
Kent replied to gav240z's topic in Cars For Sale
I am hoping they sky rocket in the near future.. but i am "invested" already in all seriousness, it is getting really really hard to find parts now let alone cars! 5 years ago i easily turned through about 4-5 of them.. even yahoo japan, part pricing is getting insane.. wont be long before we are selling parts back to the Japanese! They are definitely coming of age as a cult car -

Hi Guys, I currently have my 240K (yep.. K.. but the first 3 digits are right!) up on the rotisserie at the moment.. The car was sandblasted top and bottom, and i am trying to save a bit by painting the underbody myself before bending over for rust and paint. Underside was quite good.. but far from perfect I have sprayed the underside in 2 coats of dupont epoxy primer (840R), and then a couple of coats of 3m water-based stone guard underbody spray ( with a few more to go). I would like to spray inside the frame rails whilst the car is on the rotisserie, but i am not sure what with.. i did a general search on the net for what to use, but most of the solutions do not appear to be available in Australia (like Eastwood internal frame coating etc. - i have had a BAD experience with POR15 before, so wouldn't trust that..). Does anyone have any suggestions? i do have a euro 1L style gun that came with a lance. i really don't want to spend $12k+ in bodywork and paint for this car to rust from the inside out (and probably paranoid ).. Thanks Guys

Hi Guys, sorry for bringing up this old thread, however the previous sale fell through (atleast i know the guy sold his 240Z shell, and never organised to pick them up), so i have put the nose and hinges on ebay with a $50 starting price. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/120970514018#ht_500wt_1414 And a set of matching flares starting at $30 http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120970515143#ht_500wt_1414 No offers, they will sell for what they sell for, hopefully someone here grabs a bargain! i need the room

aaarrgghh.. guys... your killing me so many arguments and opinions for and against them as well as for the standard carb's (they are the good ones too), though i am not ever going to be going the extremes of an L31 so i do understand 45's are overkill.. your not making it any easier on me, some great info though, i have a good guesstimate on the spec's i need (though that was based on 30mm chokes, will look into 32mm now).. the only problem is unless i get it dyno tuned by someone who has all the options, it could work out to be a very expensive case of trial and error (though i remember the original SWR tune on these cost an absolute bomb) Looks like the car is going to have to be put in storage for a year or two, in the now very near future... so i really need to decide what to do... If i do change my mind, i will post a new for sale message (sorry moderators, i am concious that this thread is hitting the limits of what should now be in the for sale section). thanks again guys! Kent

Thanks Guys for all the support.. I know that it will be worth it once they are up and running. I believe i need to start with 120mm main jets, 50F9 idle jets, 0.45 accel pump jets, 0.55 accel pump inlet valves and 30mm chokes. will start the search

Hi Guys, had a talk with the wife, and deciding to hold onto these for now, i am going to re-look into getting the chokes to fit them to the L24 worse case and it doesn't work out, i probably won't lose that much. Sorry to all those that showed an interest. If the situation changes, will let you know.. Kent

really? what is the market value for them? should i be asking $1400ish? i certainly don't want to give them away unnecessarily (but don't want to ebay them either)

Hi Guys, I have a set of triple Webers with lynx manifold, triple ramflow filters and all the linkages (installed by SWR)to suit an L28. These came of a mates 260z with L28 and they were tuned by Stewart Wilkins. Unfortunately they don't suit my stock L24 and as much as i would love to believe they would and hold on to them, deep down i know they just won't work for me. The webers are currently spec'd as follows: Choke = 36 venturi = 4.5 Main Jet = 145 Air corrector = 180 Emulsion Tube = F15 Idle jet = 60 F6 Pump jet = 35 Now, i am not 100% sure how much these are worth, i am guessing $1200 or so (i believe my mate paid around $1450 for them 4-5 years ago) so i am open to offers and hugely open to suggestions on what they are worth Pickup in Sydney, otherwise i can probably get them couriered if i can find a decent way to pack them.
