Up for sale is a Datsun 260z 2+2.. Few details on the car.. Its been sitting in the shed now for about 15 years from when my dad decided he wanted to give it a paint job. The body was already in good condition but had a few rust areas that he wanted sorted.. so at that stage the car was taken off the road. The project stalled and its been sitting in the shed now untouched for some time and is being sold as an unfinished project. A couple of years ago a sill panel was replaced on one side, the other one is fine so didn't need replacing. He also fitted an alloy motorbike fuel filler which looks pretty cool. Its rubbed back, has a few different coloured panels and sections of primer but overall is very straight and rust free. Some body work needs to be finished and then painted. Not registered but can be, doesn't require an inspection if registered again in SA. Can be registered at buyers cost. Engine & Manual gearbox are standard and has matching numbers etc.. Engine and box were in very good condition before it was taken off road. Its done 150k's and engine has been reconditioned with receipts for all this work. Needs a battery and some other minor bits to get going, may need to clean carbies and would recommend replacing fluids etc. He is after $2750 Car is sold as is so buyer will need to arrange trailer / tow for pickup. Car is located in Ridgehaven, SA 5097 Geoff 0410 346 136 geoff240@bigpond.net.au

I bought it from the US. I can't remember the shop in particular but they specialised in zed stuff. -
Stunning! Nice car mate.

Hi Guys, Looking at US forums and a few mentions in Aus forums it looks like the MX5 is a good option to put into the 240z. I was planning on retrimming my original seats but don't find them supportive enough and don't think they would hold up very well in a crash ! Has anyone else here put MX5 Seats in? If so whats required to fit them? What rails would you use? Do they need modifications? Any idea's / opinions and pics would be good.. Cheers Travis

Thanks for your comments guys, so looks like i'll leave it as is... Since i'm not looking to make changes to the ECU at this time will look to find gains elsewhere... Thanks again Travis

Hi Guys, I am replacing my intake manifold at the moment and am wondering wether its worth upgrading my Throttle body & injectors while i have everything off.. I currently have an L28E with a throttle body measuring 55mm and standard injectors. Is there a bolt on upgrade throttle body? What is the optimum size to go for? Also is it worth upgrading injectors if i'm still using a standard ecu? If so what injectors will be suitable? Thanks Travis

Hi All, I have a 240z with an L28 injected engine in it from a 280zx. Using standard ecu, wiring, manifold etc... I hate the look of the intake manifold, and it appears that theres a heap of emmissions stuff on there that it could do without. So i have just purchased an intake manifold from the US.. ITs the N47 Manifold, which in comparison doesn't have the webbing and looks like it does away with most... if not all of the emmissions gear. My question is... Is there anything on the manifold emissions wise that i absolutely need on there for it to run.. And also once i have only the manifold, fuel rail, throttle body etc on do i need to make any changes to allow for having no emissions gear. Will everything just run as normal once all hooked up? Also... should i expect any better performance when its all removed. I'll post up a couple of pics tonight comparing the standard Aussie 280zx manifold and the N47 manifold that i've purchased. Sorry for long post. Look forward to your responses. Travis

Hi all, I'm looking at getting my Zed painted from start to finish. Its currently in pretty good shape but as always there is some rust. The rust that i know about isn't too bad so i don't expect there to be huge amounts of new metal to be welded in. I want the body taken back to bare metal and resprayed in 2 pak white, which is the current colour and the original colour of the car. Anyone know how much roughly i should expect to pay for this, considering this is a car i want to keep forever i want it to be done well... but at the same time i'm just about to go back and study so don't have a fortune to spend. Can anyone recommend someone in SA that could do it that has a good rep, maybe some experience in working on zeds would give me some piece of mind also!. Thanks Trav

Hi guys, Thanks for your replies. It would make sense that these are only a US 280zx item as i first started seeing them on US Ebay. Back when the dollar was good i should have picked one up then, but the killer seems to be postage for an item this size to Australia. Quotes from ebay users have ranged from $150US upwards!. Have seen a couple come up on Aus Ebay but at that stage i had a change of heart and was leaning towards an RB. I'm unsure what sized throttle body they have, as i said i don't know much about them.. only that it will look a lot nicer that my current standard manifold. So if anyone has one that wants to sell let me know!. Thanks Travis
