  1. Yes, thank you very much. Fortune shines upon some, sometimes. I feel priveliged to buy this opportunity to continue this project and intend to complete it as Tony had visioned . cheers
  2. Hello there, I have a full time old school panel beater spray painter, still fully ticketed and legit. He has been working mainly on 240/260z for me and knows his way around them pretty well now. He can do any level of repair, prepare and paint that you like from everyday driver annual rust bog/repair(cheap) to panel beat a bent and twisted panel that you thought was beyond repair with almost no filler to nut and bolt concourse resto. We do it from my shed(full of zeds) at home so little outgoings ,and another very good mate has a state of the art shop in penrith that we can make full use of if you want two pack job or if cars need to be pulled etc. I am overseas at the moment but reply here or will be back later in the month, 0416 025214. cheers
  3. Hello there, can i get a phone number or call/sms me on 0416 025214, I am interested in a few of your items, cheers
  4. Hello there, any pictures and anything you are after to swap ? cheers
  5. Hello there all in the z-world, I just paid a deposit on the silver 260 on ebay and will be down in the next day or so to pick it up. I came across the car and actually bought it now on ebay a couple of years ago where the owner had a freind put it on to see how it would go but for whatever reason ( I forget now) decided not to sell it, I can understand that completely. Anyway I checked ebay this morning and there it was again, I hadn't spoken to him for 12 months or so and intended on catching up with him last sunday as I was in melbourne to pick up the tiga mica gold 2+2 that had been for sale for a couple of months, not a bad car and a great drive home. So I spoke to him and he remembered me , told me the price and I put a deposit straight in and am very exited. I sold my 260 coupe last november and miss it terribly. I agreed on a fair price and thats the best I could hope for. Anyway please all respect the sale and no guzzumping would be appreciated. I will let you know how it all goes, cheers.
  6. Hello mate, I will be in melbourne next wednesday and can try to hook up if possible, can I get a contact number? cheers
  7. Hello, before starting the engine try pulling the insulators on the leads back at the plug end to expose the metal connectors but leave them joined to the plugs. Start the car and grab one lead at a time at the thickest part of the insulator (to reduce chance of shock, dont worry it wont damage you) and gently disconnect it from the plug observing the spark arc upto 4-5 mm between the plug end and the lead, (as you lengthen the spark gap it draws more spark to that plug and this will often allow a plug to fire when it wont fire while connected), and then move it closer to the engine block and watch it arc to the block. repeat this listening to any change in the engine,(better with a higher, constant rpm),dial up the idle screw or just open the thottle at the linkage. This should isolate the problem cylinder and then just dry all the connections, then some water dispersant(wd-40,inox). If pain persists start changeing plugs around to isolate if it is spark supply or plug. N.B. if points or other electrical parts are a bit tired they will tend to give up when placed under a bit of extra strain like earthing though water etc. Good luck, cheers
  8. I had a 260 with a catch can on the firewall between the battery and the isolator switch, I think anything for the track is for function and that always looks good. You only need about 3 litre capacity I think (however bad it blows you will be on the side of the track before you fill much more than that) and no outlet. As for fumes, the few fumes from the cam cover only enhance the racing feel, run some Castrol-R to further improve exhaust aroma. Remember to relax and enjoy, sometimes a "perfect build" can lack character. As for Penrith Muffler Man, Andy is very good , a lax kind of bloke but really knows his stuff. Let me know if you want to meet me there and I will organise a system for #295 at the same time, we will get a better price for 2 than 1. cheers
  9. Thanks mag, have you got a vin for me or a photo, holiday is good. Firewood merchant, not woodchip. I have a couple of project (major resto) princes but not sure what to do with them at the moment, first I have to collect them and bring them home. I will post some pictures sometime soon and If some one asks mag (the elder of zed brotherhood) very nicely he is much more reliable at that kind of thing. I am always interested in anything old ,especially japanese ,if anyone comes accross anything that they dont want themself please let me or mag know. Isuzu belletts, mitsubishi colt, suzuki bikes, anything at all. Anyone looking for anything let one of us know. In the little time I have spent on this sight I have found it to be very well set up and organised very easy to navigate(compared to thi telstra bigpond sight at least) and to whoever is responsible for that "Good on you, well done". I speak to a lot of people interested in the breed and they almost always are aware of the sight without anything bad to say. Cheers
  10. Hello, I am west of sydney and have a few z,s and 200 sports. If you need anything or any help let me know. cheers
  11. Hello, I am out near richmond and have a few zeds myself. From what I remember of your car it is already a great car. Are you using the car in the meantime? If you need a hand with anything to get it regoed or something let me know. I will try to help out. I find its best to keep them on the road when possible as projects can get away on you and you miss all those drives, whatever condition your car is in it is a zed. cheers
  12. Hi, when you turn on the ignition, light on dash, you should here a fant clicking buzz at the right hand rear of the car (electric fuel pump). Then just pull a spark plug lead off at the spark plug and push the metal connector out of the plug end and hold it a few millimeters from the cam cover (top of engine) and turn the engine over, if you see a small pulsing spark (flash) you have spark. If the car runs for 10 seconds as you say, all should be easy. Make sure that when you pull the choke cable on in the cabin that both chokes are closing on the carbies (the cables will pull the small levers between the carbies and the engine up) if not just pull them up manually at the carbies with you finger. If the car starts you can leave them like this for a few minutes without touching the throttle and then gradually push them down as the car warms up. When the car cuts out does it happen when you touch the throttle? If so just let it run longer, dont think that a good rev will somehow clear its throat, if it runs for 10-15 seconds just persist doing this several times. Its actually a good thing as it gives oil a chance to fill the galleries and revisit places it hasn't been for a while. N.B. When chokes are closed it reduces the airflow to the engine and hence increases fuel ratio helping with cold start, thats why it wont accelerate as it then starves for air as it is getting too much fuel. Let me know how you go.
  13. Hello, my name is Zak Smith, I am from sydney and my best mate (from brisbane) and myself have been collecting Z's for nearly 20 years. I have a few cars and quite a lot of parts but unfortunately I have a large work load and very little time to be active as a member. I am however a very lucky man as my missus also has a love for z's. I am located about 1 hour west of sydney and have a shed chokas with cars and parts. I am able to help out with some parts and advice on early sylvia, prince skyline,fairlady,2000 sports,240z,260z,260z2+2,and280zx. Please be patient with replies as sometimes I dont get to log in for days or weeks at a time. I will endevour to be more active as a member though. I have a very good network of people that can also help if I can't. I am ill with a lack of resistance to collect more z cars but my missus is trying to help me and it is slowly working (i.e. sell one if I want to buy another one). I can now put a dollar value to the emotional attatchment to the cars and parts. This can be seen by the sometimes ambitious prices I put on things and also reflects the things I have given away to those more deserving. I have adopted a philosophy that they are not mine but I am the custodian, and although money exchange often has to take place, I have never sold a car that hasn't gone to a equal or better owner (custodian). I am not a purist (in the modern sense) nor do I own any concourse cars at the moment. I do appreciate all styles, modified and original, and usually like the car more than the person that owns it. I dont have a lot of time to chat ect on the forum but I will try t6o more often. Thank you for your time
  14. Hello there, are the mirrors still available and do you have any other bits available? cheers
  15. Hi, I am local to you and wondered if the car is still available? cheers
