  2. Check out the engine bay Mmmmmm.......
  3. Another one popped up 432 popped up this week - $150K plus car - but museum quality: Keep dreaming Phil....
  4. Just arrived from Japan my 1975 Fairlady Z has had a 240Z tail-light conversion done in Japan. The rear outer (exterior) plastic is untidy and the rear inner plastic (inside the hatch ) is missing..... Does anyone have these parts?
  5. Might be perfect PM sent
  6. My 1971 Aussie delivered Zed came with the same rectangular shaped fender mirrors.... I still have them but I installed the JDM style ones for my personal style preference....
  7. The Z432 car was passed in. - It's back again today. Any one got a few spare dollars? Phil
  8. I was offered this Z432 today from Tokyo Price was a bit steep so I had to settle for this one instead: Cheers Phil

  10. I just got my new toy in Tokyo.... withdrawal symptoms too strong after selling the Hakosuka... She looks pretty clean I will take her for a tune at SWR when she arrives... Hmmmm
  11. It doesn't seem to have a full roll cage??? Isn't a proper cage essential for Targa?
  12. My car was an Aussie delivered WITH fender mirrors... I still have the original rectangle shaped mirrors (which I didn't like) and replaced them with JDM style bullet mirrors I purchased from the USA..... The placement looked exactly the same as the JDM zed I recently sold... To me it looks strange to not be placed on the outer edges of the fender...?
  13. This is a rare car I came across in Japan that I had to import - I think it must be classified as collectable as only 200 were produced in 1988... http://www.youtube.com/user/Asitisinheaven/videos?query=r31+autech Cheers Phil
  14. For the last 10 years I have agreed that classic Japanese cars are more valuable in Japan than Aus, but I think Aussies are starting to understand the value of these cars more than ever now. A new generation has grown up with imported Jap performance cars. The cult of the GT-R is alive and well with Bathurst heritage. The prices of good zeds are strong here now. They were the best selling sports car in the USA in the early 70s eclipsing all US muscle car sales... Japanese prices that looked so stupid 5-15 years ago have been stagnant with their economy. The prices don't seem so silly to me now. A tired Toyota 2000GT in need of total restoration made $226,000 at Bonhams auction in Aus 2 years ago... So what would a good Z432 be worth here???
  15. Are there any here in Aus? Is this a more significant collectors car on the world market than say a 1970s Falcon GT? Cheers for your thoughts Phil
  16. http://page19.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/x215487206 Can be viewed as a tribute - or just bloody ugly....!
  17. It's good. A brand is about building heritage. Datsuns have always been cheap cars - just happen to be some very good cheap cars. That's the appeal.... my cheap Datto is better than your mega-bucks Porsche! When my dad had a 928GT in 1994 and I had my 240Z - I was driving a kid's bomb - I sold it for $7000 and it was a top Zed. I sold a beaut 928 last year for $12K !!! I just sold a Zed for more 4X that! The mind boggles! A continuing Datsun story is a good thing. In 20 years time your Zed will have even more history and a bigger story and be more valuable than some obscure name from the 70's that the world and the new generations have forgotten about...
  18. The red 1976 Fairlady 3.1 has a new home
  19. I expected them to be very similar but they are very different. This car has more top end power. The zed had more low end torque. This car feels so easy to drive with the power steering - I have to get used to it. It has very stiff suspension - too stiff for crappy Sydney roads. It feels as though it will be just as quick on the track....
  20. She will have a visit to Stewart Wilkins Racing for a tune. New front rotors will be fitted tomorrow....
  21. Christmas is early - she arrived this morning:
  22. Please PM me regarding landed costs etc - I dont want to be misconstrued as to why I like this forum.... it's to chat about lovely old Japanese machines not to sell them here... I will sign up for the Skyline bash - sounds like a fun few days Cheers Phil
  23. Alex is a very cool guy.... The Zed has gone to good home.... definitely the best car I have ever owned. I hope the Hakosuka is as good as the Zed. How much does a 240/260 weigh? - I thought it was about 1100kg also....
