  1. That is so car part pornography!! I'm keen to see the results as I was thinking of straight cut gears and evening up the ratios.
  2. Triple webers all the way! 20L/100km economy isn't really that bad ..... I can't think of any other NA induction sound that can put a horn on a jellyfish like webers can and I'm trying to keep it somewhat authentic . 'Jim' is currently negotiating with his datsun contacts for a set, less manifold, for $800, so fingers crossed!
  3. That looks hot! I wondered what the carbon fibre surrounds looked like on a car. How 'fat' is the zed now?
  4. I certainly am a QLDer. Over the last few weeks I've learned some key bits of advice when it comes to managing your relationship with your zed and your partner. I'm lucky in the sense that the missus has a good sense of humour. Here are two instances where I spoke before I thought. I get home from work and say, 'I'm going out to the shed to play with the zed" Missus, "but I haven't seen you all day!" Me, "well the Zed hasn't seen me all week!" Another instance discussing the zed over tea, the missus says, "I can't believe I have to compete with a car for your attention" Me, "there is no competition, the car has already won" As I said, thank god my lovely missus (if she's reading this haha) has a sense of humour and we laughed it situations off. Anyway, he is some progress pics taken last weekend. All the carpets and fibre sound deadening is out and I almost had the dash out last night.
  5. Its a few weeks overdue but here goes! I've been a Zedophile in denial for about 8 years now, and I guess purchasing one is the first step of many to recovery. I bought Paul's (from Zbits at Walloon) old daily 260Z 2+2 with FUNCTIONING (!!!) electric sunroof. Considering it hadn't been started in 18 months it ran quite well with 0 advance and tickle of aerostart to get it fired up. It has a few pieces missing (door locks, chrome strips), presumably in Paul's big stock pile. Here are a few pics of the zed fresh off the car trailer. The plan is a street high performance build from the ground up. It's very handy when your best mate, who we will call 'Jim' , that you've know since girls had germs and cooties, owns a parts store and workshop and also is a dattophile into 1600s. At this stage the basic list looks something like this: - San marino blue paint (350Z colour code) - half cage - ZG flares - L31 ('Jim' has donated an L28, sourced a kiwi LD28 crank) - front spoiler (waiting on Len Brennan for a quote) - modify struts with coil-over sleeves Thats it for now, Neuby

  7. I'm deffinately digging the second photo! I love the use of monochromatic background.
  8. It was his old blue one, the orange looks tops though. Here's a pic before I started stripping it back last Friday, I'll have to start a worklog.
  9. I went down and visited Paul a few weekends back, he certainly loves his zeds, and I bought his old daily driver with a functioning electric sunroof. Thanks Oldmates260z for pointing me in the right direction!
  10. Thanks for that! Thats exactly what I'm looking for.
  11. Hi guys, I'm chasing a 260Z, doesn't have to be registered or have an engine, in the SE QLD area. I'm in Toowoomba so the closer the better. The plan is a ground up restoration so I'm not adverse to rust as long as its not in structural areas or the odd dent. Manual is preferred really only for the centre console and pedal box. As many panels, glass and interior pieces is preferred. Will pay cash and pick up. Be sure to tell your friends! PM for number if you have something or know someone. I have been all over the internet like flies to horse shit and I am aware of the nicer cars for sale but I'm really chasing something mostly original so that I'm not undoing someone else's hard work. Cheers, Neubs
