  1. Heads up, my latest container of used wheels is here. I'm unpacking the last of it tomorrow so I will be uploading new pics over the weekend. http://otomoto.shop033.com/c/4056609/1/used-15-and-16-inch-wheels.html

Yes, thought of that already. Looking at making an ITB set-up for it after I get it registered.

The engine is now sitting in place properly. With a bit of mild violence I got the R31 mounts to fit in the 240K crossmember. Also picked up a set of used extractors and had them ceramic coated.
  5. keep an eye on our used wheels page, something may pop up.
  6. It is possible with steel sleeves fitted, but I don't know about the cost.

Ok back to the car. Some good progress now, I have got the RB30E engine and gearbox sitting in the car, pretty much a perfect fit. Only needs plates welded onto the original mounts for the engine, not sure about the gearbox mount yet. 240K tailshaft will be fine without mods. Gearlever also in the right place.
  8. Which are the really good parts?
  9. Call Shannons, they will be happy to give you a price. For low use they are very cheap and they will agree to value of $20k plus for that sort of car. There is always maintenance with an older car, but one with everything mechanical already changed is likely to be much better. It will be more a case of small things like the indicators stop working etc, rather than stopping in a cloud of steam on the side of the road.
  10. Those flares look like they come from a kit, not ZG style flares. Are you still planning to use them?
  11. Yeah I just got them for sprints. I just heard from Steve Cox that I won a trophy at Wakefield (I didn't stay for the trophy presentation as I had to return my trailer). Apparently I was quickest in type 2 (modified 3.0 to 3.5) which would be much more impressive if there was more than one other Zed in the class
  12. Yes they are supposed to be the equivalent of a Hoosier A6, but much cheaper. From what I've read the performance is the same and they last a bit longer. We'll see what they do for my car at Wakefield. Less brake locking will save some time straight away.
  13. They are DOT approved in America, but in the same breath they say they are not for highway use.
  14. I just ordered a set of semis to help my track times a bit They are 225/50 and 245/45 Hankook Z214 mediums, which on Tirerack.com were just AU$900 delivered I will fit these to my existing 16x8 and 16x8.5 Watanabe F8s, but they will also be big enough if I decide to fit 16x8.5 and 16x9.5 R-type wheels in the future. I tried fitting a 16x8.5 R-type to the front of my car today. Without a spacer they don't clear the Wilwood brake kit, but with a 3.5mm slip-on spacer there is about 1mm clearance.
  15. Did you try the UK site? Could be a goer, as I sold my last 240Z (with the 1JZ engine) to a UK buyer. This was about 7 years ago and back then getting $19k for a Zed was an achievement. Of course the pound was better back then so he was only paying 8000 quid. He was stoked with the car though, as UK Zeds have even more trouble with rust than we do
  16. I like the look of this car (no surprise there). It is a bit rough in various ways but this gives it a bit of rat-rod appeal too. Interesting that he wants an S2000 instead. Must be looking for a few less rattles... and aircon
  17. Our used wheels listing has been updated. Some good Zed wheels coming. http://otomoto.shop033.com/c/4073478/1/used-wheels.html
  18. No, but Alfa Motorsport do them in fibreglass
  19. Sounds like a good solution, I might try that
  20. I had a chat with Alan on the day. Actually it's still an L24 block but with 2.75 capacity and the Webers are 48DCOEs. Surprisingly it still runs points ignition and apart from plastic side windows all of the original steel panels and glass are still in place. To answer another post yes they were slicks, which never really got up to temperature on 4-lap sprints. The brakes are CL Valiant vented discs on the front, can't remember about the rears.
  21. You need to post the individual links to the items
  22. Some more pics of the early Zeds at the show
