dribbles on the floor.... hugs his car... stares at the meanie glad galderdi got what i meant

i reckon if the car is worth 30k to the owner, then its worth 30k. you cant put a value on the time and effort, my zed is worth about 15k.... ish, but i would sell for less than 40k, cause i love my car and all the business i did to it.

I just pulled an R200 out of my 260z. it has a 4 bold mounting for the shafts coming out either side. I have no idea where i get this spline business, if i have any, or what the go is. I just want LSD, will the R200 you have there help me?

hey all, 2 issues. Issue the 1st What size intercooler are the converters out ther getting? L29ET is the end goal, started pulling it apart and ready for a new intercooler core. I have read http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,3624.15.html and thought that was fantastic (Nuclear_z how did you get on wit that?) I'll be using that style of piping and the 2.5" size as well Is there a way to figure out what size of core one needs? or when too big is too big and too small is too small? Issue the 2nd: I have a "gerry-rigged" throttle cable set up (yes cable) and have thus far not/been unable to source a solid linkage set. New EFI manifold means new throttle body, which I assume is a different set of linkages. Thinking im just going to run a custom cable, but herein lies the issue. A cable pulls the butterfly open. The 280zx standard butterfly needs to be pushed open (wish i had a pic to put up) Do I a) find a way of reversing the cable (puller wheel [see S15 throttle body]) and be happy with the 280zx TB? or b) buy a new throttle body that is more appropriate. if b, what fits/what size/what make if i have to go aftermarket new.

SOLD kit Rb25det complete motor package for 240z/260z
herrods replied to mrp69's topic in Parts and Tools for Sale
hey mrp, where r u located? I am very interested in this package, it sounds like it could suit me well. im on 0425 387 633 can you give me a buzz? -
scando i must have looked at the photos of your car 100 times in the last few months, one of hte first to come up searching anything around L28 and turbo in the same sentence have you reinforced the mount in other areas to compensate? I was thinking to weld a thicker piece of something-or-other just underneath the dip of the curve, (see the diagram kindly provided in previous posts) or is it not worth the effor for the amount to be cut out?
-
that doesnt look stock to me, the stock ones have a cat and do not have a resonator that is shaped like that one. that is at very l;east aftermarket piping with a stock mufflet but even that is probably not correct because s14 is a twin tip muffler. also the original exhaust is a 2" or something like that, measure the diameterr of the pipe, anything more and it is not stock. simple.

hey nizmo zed that is exactly what is required to be honest I dont know what the turbo is. Its a GT28 front housing, and an unknown rear housing, and was made by airesearch. I dont really know if it counts as long, but its only the front bolts that are hanving the issue. not the acual housing. to clear it do i need a certain amount to allow for flex or the fact that the engine and turbo all flex on the mount equally means it only has to clear by a bee's dick
-
im not too sure on that one, at work at the moment, spacing it out means we may run into clearance issues on the chassis rail, not with the turbo itself but for the turbo to intercooler "hot" pipe connection well worth the thought though cheers

my '74 260z is getting an efi turbro conversion. Its currently a 2.9L L28, and I just bought the appropriate manifolds for the conversion, and have also acquired a turbo slightly larger than a GT28. Problem comes when one attempts to attach it to the manifold, it fowls on the engine mount. to fix the problem, about 1 cm of the mount needs to not be where it currently is. New custom engine mount? or is a little shaving not going to hurt anyone?

i love the drift.... yep I love the zed... yep i love to drift the zed.... maybe not Apart from what everyone has brought up here, drifting twists stuff. chassis for one. think about seam welding. think about replacement panel cost think engine conversion think broken gearboxes think tyres think replacement bushes think... think ur gonna break some stuff all of these come into ALL motorsport to a degree, but drift is one step short of all out mechanical carnage. cars are not designed for drift. the boffins at nissan and toyota and wherever else do not sit at their desks and say "I know, lets build a moderately priced car, give it 50/50 weight balance and a good power figure, so people can go sideways." they think "make a great car to sell to people." Any good, well balanced car can get sideways, can be controlled and can be alot of fun, but that is not the design brief that they were created for. like i said i love the drift i love the zed i (dont) love to drift the zed

Odd situation with sale of a UK 1975 260z !
herrods replied to uktowners's topic in General Discussions
Hi there im interested in purchasing the car. Couple of quick questions re the condition of it. Is it original with the 5.7L motor? or has it been modified to take the 6 Litre one? Also has the motor been converted for twin turbo or left as a supercharger set up? I was just wondering also what the condition of the rear seats was like, esp the middle seat belt, i have found a couple where the middle seat is not in the greatest condition. Also is this one of the ones to come factory with 4 pot front brakes or just the original single pot front and rears. Are the recaro original seats still in good nick? Cheers -
hey OZ001, did this end up selling? im keen and in sydney so can make pickup pls let me know asap 0425 387 633

+1 for spawn seems to be a lot of stuffing about for something you can get out of a motor that will be easier to put in! what I really would like to see (in dream land) is if someone could get a 4.0L XR6 turbo motor in there... now that would be a lead tipped arrow
