what about the fuel pump? Not sure what type you are running but if it's mechanical the rubbers could dry out and crack.

I just had a closer inspection of one of the spare parts packages that came with the car and realized that the item was for a 240Z not a 260Z. The parts in question are lens covers for the rear taillight assembly and the front indicators. Four items in total and still in Nissan packaging, but are probably second hand. Bottom line,..I don't have a use for them. OOps, ignore the first two attachments. Can't figure out how to get rid of them.

One thing you may want to consider is choosing a Z that is all ready registered/"roadworthy". I'm not sure what the rules are for this in WA but here in Vic, so long as you pay your registration fees each year, your Z is considered roadworthy. So theoretically you could have a registered death trap that you could drive to various tool shops for work to be carried out. Also getting a roadworthy certificate for a 30+ car can be very difficult. This however is all irrelevant if you are going to do a total strip down restoration on your own property. As for 240 v 260 (2 seater) it really depends on where you want to spend your money. I would go the 260 so you could free your budget up for other fun mod stuff. I'm just curious about the carpeting in the hatch area. In particular I'm intrigued as to how it's meant to interact with the spare tyre well and the front compartments in the 2 seater. I ask this because I'm unsure as to what the original setup looked like, was it just one piece of carpet or was it in sections? I would like to restore my 2 seater to original specs but am willing to make alterations when the original design is silly. eg poor headlights From other discussions on carpet that I have read it would seem that getting a trimmer to redo the carpets is an excellent idea. So I figured that if I'm going to get a trimmer to do the work then why not get a slightly customized job done on the hatch carpet. I envisage a design that allows the carpet that covers the spare tyre to be lifted/hinged to one side without disturbing the rest of the carpeting. The same would apply to the storage compartments. To do this I would need a solid (perhaps 3 ply) base with hinged panels inserted under the carpet. Dose this make sense?

Yes the front spoiler is up for grabs. I will take a pic tomorrow of the split in the spoiler so you can get a better idea, should be fixable in the hands of a good technician. Yellazed, you may have hit on something with the colour issue. To me white is a very 80's colour and the spoiler accentuates that, the problem is that she is a car of the 70's and I would like to keep it that way. So I guess it's purely psychological. Oh, and I could never be offended by someones opinion, but she (2+2) might My actual location is Katunga, Victoria. Katunga is 2.5 hours north of Melbourne on the Goulburn Valley Highway, almost on the Murray. Hello everyone, I bought my first Z about 7 years ago (1976 260Z 2+2 5Sp Man) A little while ago I stumbled upon my new aquisition and couldn't say no. Shes a 1975 260Z 2 seater (auto) and in need of a lot of lovin' So I've got a lot of work ahead of me, no scratch that I will be paying for a lot of work to be done.
