  6. can i pay half that, since after i blast it there'll only be half a car left?
  7. On a side note.. What are the odds of sourcing an L24 engine / what are prices like / are they better than 260z's L26 which as far as i know are the same, with same bore, but have a longer stroke, and lower compression? The guy also had a set of triple webers he wanted to sell me for $1700.. said they owed $2300 in work and parts done on em - i passed. But, I love the sound of the Solex on my 2000 Sports.. So, was wanting to go a triple setup ... The other option is open throttle body EFI which should have the same awesome sound? What are yall opionions?
  8. I was wondering the same thing!!!! Thanks for the answer Kind of annoying that plate thingy on the control arm is on the top side on one side though - No spot of the lift to cup underneath :/
  9. Gav I will have a look in July when i'm back in Cairns. I won't see the car before then. It's got a 260z auto in it atm, with an additional manual gearbox, clutch kit and pedal box that he threw in for an extra $500. So, I assume you're asking to see what the L24 number is on the ID plate.. Also, how did you know about what it's factory colour was? What list is that from? I've looked at the owner's registry list on http://www.zhome.com/IZCC/ZRegisters/classicHS.htm
  10. Dad organised the transport. He put a request listing on Loadshift.com.au for Perth to Cairns and had about 4 calls... one stupid one for $5000. One was $1800 on a trailer with a tarp over it.. We went for $2800 inside a furniture truck.. which needed a Tilt Tray tow truck to turn up to load it on. We needed something enclosed to keep out the dust and rain as the car isn't sealed.. Also, there were 3 or 4 large boxes. $2800 is really good value for this type of tranport. I've moved Cars Perth to Cairns before on the back of Car Trucks by the likes of CEVA logistics and Cockburn Transport. CEVA from memory was a little exp. Cockburn Transport was 2 cars for $3500 in about 2014-2015. Dad said Loadshift and Truckit, net are really good to use. Basically you can find backloads i.e. Full trucks coming over from somewhere, and then looking to take something back rather than returning empty!! It's win win for us and them.
  11. So in case anyone is wondering where it disappeared to, I bought this on the weekend. It's currently on transport from Perth to Cairns. Apparently it has zero rust. Did have a sunroof filled back in (which concerned me at first). But from the photos is looking super straight. Comes with a 260z engine (not the original) ... auto gearbox, but I've also bought a manual with it. You can see one of the earlier ads here on the classifieds link, page 295 : http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/1924-cars-for-sale-3rd-party-sites-ebay-carsales-etc/page-295 Or on my google drive i've got a shared folder for the images: https://drive.google.com/open?id=19IUBLZiqbveNiczWY4J9MXvlLrFzeLoG

  13. Hey guys. Well i'm looking at redoing my interior. It's all ripped out atm. I almost ordered all my stuff from http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/CTGY/SIC which is in california. I ordered the vinyl kit which covers the centre transmission housing, boot riser area, and rear wheel n stut housing, the vinyls for the seats, and also the foam inserts they make for the seat restoration kit. Also the dogleg panels near the rear wheel housing. I would have like a blue carpet set too, but apparently they only came in black (as was original). Anyways, all up the parts came to around US$690 i think it was.. But because of the size of the order, they had to go private shipping which worked out to be US$280! This is where i kind of lost interest in the entire order. SO!!..... I thought i'd post here locally in Australia to see if you guys know if there's anywhere here that sells these parts, without the extortionist delivery charges. Any advice or information would be much appreciated. Cheers!!
  14. Hi peoples. I have a Datsun 240z. 71. It's in Cairns atm. However i've ripped out the interior and tryin to get new everything. Carpets, vinyls, and my Dash reskinned. There's really not that much to do to the interior on a 240z huh. But yer. I'm looking at going White reskin on the dash and centre console, with blue vinyls and carpet. Dad reckons i'm crazy, and says the guy in Brissy that's doing the job says they don't look good. So they're kinda talking me out of it, but i still don't agree. I've got the picture of it all in my head and to me it's lookin good. But i thought i'd post here n ask you guys what u think of such a radical move. cheers!
