Nice collection you have going there.
  3. Thanks Guys, Gilltech : That sounds like a lot of work for something that should just come apart, hopefully its not going to be that hard. warrenz : You are correct, I am talking about the bolt-like wedge fastener in the centre of the suspension arm. Unfortunately I can't get a socket or much else on it as the head is round and flush with the top to the arm. As far as I can tell you should be able to knock it up and out, there is a thread on the part below the A-arm, it but that appears to only be for a nut to stop it rattling loose (talk about over engineered) JP : I am assuming this lock bolt has to go up, I think I worked out the pivot bolt slides out towards the rear per Haymes manual. Any ideas appreciated Dale
  4. I am trying to remove the rear struts and have run into a little issue. I can't get the lock bolt out that will allow me to slide the tranverse link pivot bolt (TLPB) out and release the rear strut. It seems to have rusted firmly in place, I have taken the weight of the rear of the car up on the bold in an attempt to shift it. Belted and tried turning the TLPB in an effort to free up the lock bolt wih no success & used genourous amounts of WD40. Really don't want to take the entire A-arm and dif cross member out, I just want to swap both struts. Has anyone got any ideas on how to remove the bolt. Haymes manual is not particulry helpful, it just says 'remove the lock bolt'. Thanks Dale
  5. Well done John, I was talking to you at the NSDOC show'n'shine when you were trying to get approval from other half. Well done, glad to see such a well sorted Zed coming down South. Hope to see you at a cruise soon. Dale
  6. Unfortunately I can't get off work early enough to get down there at any reasonable time. Have a good one.......
  7. Bugger, it was $450 when I got mine done in June.
  8. My old super P76 Super V8, 3 speed collum change was a great car (cough, cough), handled like a boat and accelerated (just). But you could fit a 44 gallon drum in the back, don't know why u would want to.
  9. If I can find time to get the lowered king springs in the zed between now and then I will be there.
  10. Is my thinking right that the 240'z had a different automatic badge, does anyone have photo. Or one for sale I will it in the fullness of time. Dale
  11. Alan Which one was Stuart Kents car, was it the red one one the end that came in very late.
  12. Alan Let us know what Charles says bout the zed as feature marque. Last year at Queenscliff fort, it was the Jag E type & Mustang as feature cars. Big attendance, but very few Nissans only one very rough 2+2 and a prize winning R31 GTS.
  13. fasntastic car, already set as the new desktop photo
  14. I will be going with my 240z, I am sure a few of the usual suspects from this forum often come along as well. See you down there
  15. Yep, just try and stop me. When ever there is a gathering of zeds i'm keen. Just need to decide which one to take. (red, it goes faster)
  16. Gee sulio, these videos are getting more and more professional, you must be putting in a lot of time getting all the footage together Keep up the good work, looking forward to seeing what footage you can put together from this next trip.

  19. Mate and I are heading over to Euroa for the big car show on Sunday, anyone else interested in coming for a bit of a cruise up the Hume. Would be great if we could get a few zeds attending.
  20. all my clocks are on the correct time twice a day, 12
  21. Double dips on the 240z's
  22. Hi Guys, Got given some Hilux 4*4 calipers a while ago, and just what to know what sort of improvements I can expect, and if its worth the effort to fit them up. Noticed in another thread sco_aus is running LN105 Hilux 4 piston, the ones I have are stamped S12+8 on one side & 57Y on the other, have I got the right ones! At the moment I am running the bog standard disk & drum setup, which is fine for cruising but you need a firm right boot to slow the old girl down. Esp noticeable when you get out of a modern car. NB - calipers, disks, pads, fluid, drums where all checked etc in about March 07, car is 95% street use may get a couple of 1/4miles, hill climbs, track days in the years to come for a bit of fun but nothing to serious. Oh yea, I assume this kit would work on the calipers I have, did you guys put a kit through the ones you used or just did you bolt them up. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/TOYOTA-HILUX-30-40-60-SERIES-FRONT-BRAKE-CALIPER-KIT_W0QQitemZ130154024393QQihZ003QQcategoryZ10428QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Also have a 260z master brake cylinders (MBC) in the parts car, would there be any benefit in swapping it over as well, or wouldn't you bother unless there was something wrong with the existing one. Out of interest is there a difference in the diamater of the 240z & 260z MBC. Thanks Dale
