  1. I couldnt find any rubber replacements in aus. I got mine from ebay us.
  2. Hi guys, Just got some Tokico Illuminas, i've seen some owners fill up the struts with oil when inserting the new cartridges. Why is that? The tokico's are seal gas units, I dont see any need to fill it up with oil. Has anyone done this? cheers eddii
  3. if i was the crook i would grind it off but since it was drilled out but the numbers are still visible then im assuming that it was done the legal way....i hope. the police already checked out the drilled out vin no and they didnt find it in their database as stolen. they said i can get a surrogate vin when it is time to go back on the road. also my engine matches the plate - which is an L24 as for the struts, they are 55mm all around. i guess it is a late 260z suspension then. thanks eddii
  4. thanks guys, i shall do some measurements tonight to definitely find out what suspension I have. it would be soooo much easier if i can hunt down the person that did this LOL
  5. thanks for your input, im even more confused now :'( here are some pics of my car first up the door latch, looks like ive got the d-type latch front strut strut tower rear strut , do i need to take another shot of the rear shock? also to add some more info to my dilema.... the car had been registered to the bloke I bought it from for more than 25 years as a 240z. when i told him that it wasnt a 240z, apparently he wasnt aware of it.... hmmmm. i thought i'd snatched a great deal cause the compliance plate and rego cert stated that the car was built 204. When I started pulling it apart that i found the VIN no. different to the compliance plate To put another twist to my story, I later found another VIN no. stamped in the driver side front strut tower. this time it was a 240z VIN no (HS30-00204)!!! Now nobody knows the history of my car and im not sure how much of the 240z parts went to this car. i'm in the process of pulling out the shocks. looks like i have to do some measurements to find out what i've got. what a mess LOL.

  10. Hi guys I would like to know if I have an earlier 260z 2-seater or the later. I’m in the process of buying a set of tokico illumina shocks/springs from ebay and I dont know which one to get. I have no idea what year model my car is because the previous owner sold me a “240z” but used a donor 260z shell and fitted the original 240z components. So I have a 240z chassis plate, dash, tail lights, and engine and 260z everything else. The chassis no of this car is RS30-015108. id like to know the year model of my car please. What are the difference in suspension components between the earlier 260z's against the later models? Any help would be appreciated Thanks Eddii
  11. Nice car Ben, thanks for sharing Like everyone here, Im looking forward to the finish product! I like the way you finished off the roof ala M3. Just wondering with the legalities of your CF body panels. As you mentioned earlier, you want to keep your car legal. Do you have ADR approvals for the CF bonnet, roof and fibreglass hatch? Im also thinking of ditching my dashboard blower, will this ceramic heater keep it legal? where can i get one? You must have a soft spot for the old zeds, amongst all the nice cars your've owned, you kept going back to it well done!
  12. thanks for your advice zedman, i'll look forward to your article. It's a tad bit hard to see you in person cause im from Gladstone QLD!!! Lol, I also have the efi hardware ITB's so my setup should be exactly thesame as yours!, let me know when u get the article together;) cheers eddii
  13. Hey Rob, when will you have the website working so that we could have a look at the parts for sale?
  14. Im very interested to see your set up. I have the ITB, inletmanifold, injectors and fuel rail. Im in the process of buying other bits for it. Could you give us a run down on what you've done
  15. c'mon shaun.. u dont need anymore dont be too greedy :D

  17. awesome pics and great cars!! now i've got some nice wallpapers LOL! BTW do u guys notice how sliggish the forum is? or is it just me?
  18. thanks for the info, im doing an engine swap with my zed so i'll get it all done in one hit. so what would be the exact cost for both fronts and rears (with park brake set up) including shipping to Queensland? thanks eddii
  19. are these kits ADR approved?
  20. Thanks Gav, I have no intentions of re-using the interior. I only wanted to use the diff (if it's a LSD type) including CV's, power steering set up (if it's a straight fit),and rear disc brake setup (also if it's a straight forward fit). Normally I wouldnt ask this question until i've seen the car, and I would've found out that the rear suspension setup is totally different to the 240, but the car is 300klms away from where i live The plan for my car is to bolt on a 1UZ engine + supra g/box. So the main priorities are to get the brakes sorted out (front and rear) to handle the increase in HP, replace the suspension and worry about the diff when it stuffs up. I'll prolly give this car a miss then and start looking for bits and pieces here and there Thanks for your input eddii
  21. Hi guys, Im thinking of purchasing a 280zx (w/o engine and gearbox). The story was the bloke that owned it just grabbed the v8 and gearbox to fit another car(non datsun) and He's selling the rest. I was wondering if it would be a good buy to use as donor car for my 240. ie diff, rear and front disc brakes, suspension, power steer. Im concerned that I might not be able to retro fit anything and Im just waisting my money? Also I need to justify my spending to the missus the car ran b4 the engine got pulled out and he wants $500 for it. Any advice would be gr8t. thanks eddii
  22. Very nice car Evan. Like the colour combo as well. I reckon stick with green. u dont see too many of them around (not up here anyway  )
  23. Hi Sulio, Im interested in getting a front spoiler like yours. just wondering how did you go in getting a special deal for the members. Cheers eddii
