Hey guys, Bought this about a month ago now to help with wiring up my vh41de into the Z but some unfortunate circumstances have befell my family and now I must sell it on to help. I bought it for 12k so its 12ono offer, fairly open on the offers due to the reasons for sale. Ok price drop, brothers operation is over but this still needs to go to pay off the over draw. $10,000 ONO $7,500 ONO These cars were never imported by Nissan Australia and were also not permitted to be imported by grey market importers. This car was bought brand new by the previous owners business partner in China then imported into AUS under the personal importation scheme. The previous owner acquired the vehicle when his partners business went under. The car itself is in stunning condition for its age with only minor blemishes on the front bar and rear right panel (clear coat chipped). The interior is fawn leather with REAL wood grain inserts. The leather is in very good condition, the steering wheel and gear shifter are how ever starting to show their age. Nearly all km’s on the car have been done in AUS between Melbourne and Sydney. If you require any more pictures/videos or other information on the car please call 0400541075. Below are some vital specifications on the car. Manufacturer: Nissan Model: Cima Engine Size: 4130cc VIN (Vehicle Identification Number): FGY32226245 Date of Manufacture: Apr 1993 Colour: Gold Registration due: Jul 2010 (this will change as it has to be put onto tassie rego) Transmission: Automatic Previous Owners: 3 including me Kilometres: 220000 all highway km in between sydney and melbourne Features: Electric front seats Electric reclining rear seats Electric steering wheel (when you put in the key or take it out the seat and steering wheel move to your driving position!) Blaupunkt head unit with 10cd stacker in the boot Leather seats, steering wheel and gear lever (worn on steering wheel and lever but the rest is A1) After market tow pack that looks like its built to tow a house! Woodgrain - REAL wood you can take out a panel and actually see the layers of wood Climate control front Climate control rear vh41de v8 with 199kw and 371nm on tap, returning about 11L per 100km of highway driving. Still has all the factory gear in the boot Has a translated Japanese user manual that was sold with the vehicle in HK Pictures

I wasn't sure if you were being serious so for the sake of not being an ass I didnt say anything. Rosebery is a town on the west coast of tassie

Eagerly awaiting the second part

A permit is the way to go. You have to take the permit out in the state that the car originates but you can have it for up to 20 days i think? Doesnt matter which states you cross. The whole process is pretty easy, been a couple of months since I had one but the last one I got from memory was $40 to cover the zed for 3 days whilst coming over on the boat. Oh by the way you can take a trailer on the spirit but from memory (been a long time since I last did it) it wasn't all that bad, having said that we went over in a group so we might have got it cheaper.

The weather report at work (usually more spot on compared to the news) said that it will be raining tomorrow! There has been some extra activity up that way lately due to a new mining site ramping up so watch out for trucks, as much as Zeds are tough a truck is always tougher
-
You wont see them, they have plotted the dullest course known to man. No targa roads as far as I understand.
-
das is true, they were all on the boat saturday night

I just used washers in my silvia with an rb30det plus i cut the webbing out of the hood, crude but effective

Ive been quite busy over the Christmas period so I haven't been able to do much to the Z bar weld up the roaster and mount it. (Mainly due to the enormous crow incident >.<) (There is a bar in the middle of the two uprights to stop it from flexing btw) Anyways now that I am getting back in to it I'm about to send it to the sand blaster after which I intend to do some rust repairs, which leads me to my questions! I am looking at doing the floors first up but still haven't been able to get in contact with All Z Spares. So does anyone know if there is another place that I can get ahold of floor/chassis rail replacements that look like these (in aus): Also do the All Z Spares floors like like them? They are from a place in Canada I believe. While I'm at it! Has anyone replaced the entire rocker panel before? Reason I want to know is that mine are looking fairly well knackered but I dont want to go drilling out the spot welds without knowing where to find a replacement and whether or not I need to make up a jig or something to maintain the alignment so I can take them off. Cheers, Kodie Graham.

I settled for the 1uz after test driving a whole bunch of them turbo and non turbo across the board, did want the later model vvti 1jz because they pull like a freight train but they were too expensive. I am usually a straight six man all the way but the twin turbo 1j just seemed to small and due to the omission of vvti lacked down low power and it seemed to feel like they were "squishy" in the top end I guess the best way to put it. It is personal preference I guess as well. Dont get me wrong they are a wicked car no matter the engine config. Sorry I didn't write that clearly. Soarers will not run without the dash in them (think its the tacho completing a circuit from memory), they run when the dash is knackered. They also wont run if take out the tv tuner (assuming you have one) unless you patch in a couple of resistors. The 2j non turbo are still pretty lively suckers despite the lack of a snail. But if you want to tow things I would think that the v8 or even the single turbo vvti 1jz is the go. If you can get away with it the single turbo vvti as a work bus would be freaky awesome, they pull like a run away train from the get go. Had shivere loads of fun test driving one, sort of reminded me of a tt 300zx. One thing that always got me about them every time you get in them is the door hinges! They are massive and look like you could swing a tank hatch off them! 525s are wicked fun as well, I had a 540i which little did I know (until some time after i bought the car) that the engine in the 540 was just a newer version of the 1uz with coil on plug and an updated inlet mani So i basically had two cars with the same engine one after the other

Go either the v8 or the later model turbo. The 1uz returns pretty good economy and sounds nice with a single exhaust. The twin turbos I found to be laggy and soft even when they hit boost. The single turbo sixs are a bloody master peice but aren't that cheap, they are more powerful and have slightly different suspension but the difference in ride and handling is bloody amazing! You can do alot to them for very little money as well. A simple resistor can replace the afm and a piece of plastic or thin ply wood and some screws is all that is needed to make the very best cold air induction setup. There is more than a few site that can give you crap loads or actual researched information (as in scientifically proven) about the cars and how to upgrade them. zzzzed is dead on the mark with the dash problem but its now not that big of a problem (well you cant drive you car with out the dash as the engine wont kick over) as there are a few guys who can fix them along with make the tv tuners work and read in english.

Shit, wish I had of seen this when it was first posted!

I get mass road rage when ever I seem some dick not give way or any of the other stupid crap that happens to riders. Get well soon mate, ill be on high alert now so ill give the monkeys hell for you!

Sorry, I should have been more specific. If I can't get the eight then I want to use one of the L series to power it. A 7200rpm limiter sounds fine, my description was a fanciful one just to give an idea of my goal.
-
Hmm yes, seems like alot of effort really. Guess I will have to weigh it all up. As far as a turbo l28, I have no doubt they are great but I have had an fj, sr and also a fairly well spastic rb31 hybrid with a 35r snail hanging off it, they are all fun but I want something different as such was looking to either have a nice atmo high revving straight 6 or a v8.
-
Is there any difference between the 280zx L28 and the 280z L28?
-
This is the reason why I ask, instead of taking all that is written on the web as gospel Cheers for the advice Nzedder. In regards to power levels, I want as much power as is practically possible to get out of a reasonably reliable engine. So, having said that I have ruled out the idea of an L32 as I am not keen on the idea of going through blocks. Hmm, so the KA24 pistons are heavy buggers. Considering I want a punchy, free revving engine they are probably not the piston of choice then. Also I haven't been in a well sorted L28 with triples, perhaps one might be at the symmonds day of the Tassie trip? Quite prudent to suggest it as 260 at the wheels is roughly what I was looking at from the vh41! Which my keep me satisfied for a while

Hail my fellow Zedders, It has finally come to pass (Teetering on the edge more so due to the ridiculous prices and availability) that I will switch from my original idea of using a vh41 in the 240 to using a l31/2 stroker with triples strapped to the side. Now I have done some searching and found alot of info but I thought It would be best to ask the people who know, lest I find my self in a situation where I'm paddling a barbed wire canoe up the perverbial creek. So basically I thought I would use something along the lines of this: Block: l28 (not sure what one) Head: N42 Pistons: KA24 (possible hypereutectic or the classic forged route depending on piston weight) Rods: L16 or perhaps something else Crank: LD28 (although I have heard of an after market one but haven't seen neither hide nor hair of any sellers) Carbs: triple mikus or 48mm deltos Now I have found some vague info on some of the machining and was hoping that you guys might be able to point me in the right directions for a comprehensive set of requirements or enlighten me in this topic. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Please don't write in about the search button because I have tried for the last 3 days across this and other forums only to find tid bits (unless I'm using the wrong search phrases?!?). Regards, Kodie Graham.

haha Rev I thought you were after a commo

Got any pictures of these?

Hmm true, they may well still be on holidays! I dont get holidays over the christmas period you see so it slips my mind occasionally. In regards to the doglegs, could you pm me what you want for them (you have a pm now as a reminder). My fiance took out the words biggest crow(I still think it was a hawk hit at speed but she swears it was a crow hit in an 80 zone :S) in her micra cleaning up the left headlight/fender, the front bar and the hood (you wouldn't believe the prices on the replacements), which I have had to repair so I will be out of the tassie trip bar the symmonds day. So If you let me know a price I will work towards getting it together. Unless you take credit cards (<--- joke btw, just in case someone one takes it serious)
