My daily driver started usin water so I decided to replace the headgsket. Unbolted everything fine (except for searching for a 13mm multihex socket in 3/8 drive for the torquewrench for the headbolts), but still cant get the head off the block... tried hitting it with a mallet thorugh a wooden block - doesnt really help... service manual says not to use screwdriver to get the head off... any other suggestions on how to get the head off?

That looks really nice Sulio! Great spoiler car - becoming better and better! The only thing that I dont really like a bout it - is the difference in color between the spiler and flairs, but thats just me being picky i guess

We al know how hard it to find used wheels with correct offset, so I thinking of purchasing a set of wheels for a Nissan Sivia and want to use those with flares.... Well I found an interesting set with the right width - 8.5 fronts and 9.5 rears but with a really wrong offset +35 - it wont be safe to fit huge 51mm spacers would it :shock: - stupid question I guess but there is always hope...

Well, my uni exams are finally over (for now at least... and good luck to those who still have their) and I finally have time to work on the Z. Decided to start with the bodywork. I have a lot of rust and will be welding it (floors, bottom sils under the doors), but unsure what metal to use - do you think 2mm mildstell will be good enough or should I use stainless? Also does anyone know what are the replacement floor pans for 240 from rarespares made off and their thickness? Is there a better or cheaper place to get the floor pans than rarespares (are they different from the ones at Zworks?) Where to get new chassis rails from? And if I decide to repair the existing rails what steel thickness would it be safe to use? Thanks in advance for your responses. PS Since I have so much time on my hands I will be starting a blog with daily updates on my progress (until the car goes to a paintshop for a respray).

Well I have finally decided on the airdam: My question is where can I source one of these in Australia? Or do I have to order one from MSA? Basically looking for the cheapest exact copy of such an airdam. Also please note how it matches the lines of the wheel arch, as I have seen similar examples but those ones dont follow these lines. Does it have the same crank as LD28, or is it a completely different design?

1m less of piping - wow thats a great improvement! What computer are you using with the engine? I really dont see why a computer would try to readjust in any case, as this modification should not affect the amount of air coming in drastically; and if it were to readjust, the whole process will be almost instant anyway.

Well I have started stripping my car and am now wondering what rust removers/converters and primers has everyone used? Also what body filler did everyone use (I am welding all rust but am planning to fill minor imperfections for financial reasons)? I am interested in brand names you SUCCESFULLY used and where to get them from. Also how did you apply the primer - did you use a spray gun (asking as someone suggested that I should maybe use a brush for unerside of the car)? Thank you in advance, John.

Here you go: 16x9.5 is 18.5lbs=8.33kg and 16x8.5 is 17.2lbs=7.74 - both for eight spoke r type rims, according to http://www.wheelweights.net/ - a very usefull database. I think thats a very good weight for period rims in such width even by todays standards.

So it looks like the NISSAN valve cover is nothing special in Australia? I was hoping its a rare JDM item...
