Theres a How to restore your Z car book that covers all the basics. Cost about $50 I think, but theres one for sale on ebay at the moment. The Haynes manual should be able to help you out with the wiring. Theres also a PDF of the 260Z service manual floating around on the internet, so you dont have to buy the haynes manual if you can find it. Red 2+2, ah, I was getting mixed up with the yellow valiant. Saw the news report with the blue 260z that got trashed. Was the 260z the car being chased? (I say 260z because I only saw the front of the car and it had 260z indicators). Mythbusters. The white 280z belongs to the the chick in mythbusters (the blonde one with all the Tatts. Cant remember her name. the one that does alot of the welding. Well thats what the classiczcars boys tell me.

It was a yellow 260z 2+2.

I hear your pain guys, My 240 has been off the road since I bought it in April 2003. I only get to work on it maybe 5 hours a month. It's a completely stripped chassis sitting on axle stands.

Try Ebay for 240z carbies. The come up pretty often for around $150 to $250. If they are asking more thatn that, just wait, they always come up cheaper. Theres some 260z carbies on ebay for 99 cents. Have to use closed cell foam. Ordinary foam will act like a sponge, soak up all the moisture on those damp nights, and thrown up from the tyres and rust holes in the guards.

Hey Zedevan, What year is your car? The Amps gauge is from a 240z and the volts gauge it typically in a 260z. Maybe the 73 240z changed over to the Volts gauge, as the 73 240z has alot of similar bits to the 260z, that earlier 240z didnt have. If you have a 260z then you might not have the right wiring to use the amp gauge, or you might have to do some mods to get it working. Using dual colour leds and switching is a good idea. The gauges have a green globe cover inside the guage, which gives the gauges the green colour, you will have to remove them if you want white leds. And you'll need to use the really bright ones, but you probably know that. Heres the inside of the temp/oil gauge, showing the cover.

It's probably a 2S-C engine. I had to change a fuel pump on my girlfriends sisters corona last week. It was leaking petrol all over the exhaust manifold. My mum's old corona coupe has a 1S engine. Pity it wasnt a Corona GT coupe. That would have had the 3T-GTE 2 litre turbo.

Hey Gav, whats with the blue line down the center of the file? Or is that just on my computer? Doesnt Matter I have the original somewhere. Which I used to make another set, but never finished them off. Actually what would be a good idea is to make a kph speedo version, so that you could past them over the speedo and convert mph to kph, instead of swapping in a 260z speedo.

heres the controlls i worked out from the config screen. You can change the default keys to other combinations by running the config program.

If you had a choice between the 2 engines which one would you go with? I hear that the power output between the 2 is about the same, and the turbo is probably cheaper to build. The 3.1 stroker is alot more work to build. Gav I wanna hear your reasons for building a stroker.
