  1. That's funny I wanted an RX4 at one stage. I was deciding between an RX4 or 240z I recall. I chose the 240z for obvious reasons, glad I did the RX4 wasn't the best in my honest opinion they are definately overpriced too. There is a guy with one near my place it's got a 13B Turbo in it. He wants like $10,000 but hasn't been able to get it. It looks clean, but could be alot of headaches and I suspect the reason he's selling. I was having a look around on some carsale type websites found an RX3 Turbo with Simmons on it looked the goods but was relatively expensive. I'd probably get an RX3 coupe but still think the Z's were far superior. The old KPGC10 used to race against it and used to win . Something about those Rotors though. On another topic, gotta love the Toyota 2000GT very nice lines and very low very sleek. Wish our Zeds got nice rims like those found on the 2000GT standard, shame we got those horrible hubcaps (even if I think there lovely). That's what cost cutting does though and the Z may not have been as successful if it wasn't for it's lucrative price tag.
  2. Hey Evan, have you checked the clutch fork? The thing that sits out of the gearbox and is what engadges the clutch (throwout bearing) when you press the clutch pedal? I know of someone with a Z who had this snap on them I guess the metal can fatigue over time. If your clutch all of a sudden fails I would be looking at one of these items. Clutch Fork Throw Out Bearing Slave Cylinder Rear Main Seal - If your clutch is slipping it could be from oil out of the back of the engine. The rear main seal can often leak. It should be replaced when putting in a new clutch also. A clutch itself is probably not too expensive, but as quoted above you need to do several other things at the same time such as remachine a flywheel. Also my pressure plate was stuffed (the plate with all the teeth on it).
  3. Yep because I haven't built one . Have you been here? http://www.zcarclub.com.au/ Really Viczcar started in Victoria but it has become an Australasian Zcar website not just a Victorian one. The problem is the time required to maintain such a website. There are a thousand things I'd still like to do with this website but just haven't had the time to do it yet. The other problem is money, currently Toecutter (Sulio) and I fund the website and hosting on our own. When the website is changed (which will happen soonish) I will be offering banner advertising for any businesses that wish to advertise on the website. Hopefully that will fund the site, but I don't expect to make much money simply because Zcar owners are generally broke and unlike Silvia forums or Skyline forums where the owners are in abundance we simply don't have a huge captive audience. Sorry if it seems like a rant, but it's just how it is. I'm glad we have a resource like this and it's been great seeing new members sign up, previously Zcar owners were few and far between now we have a common meeting place. Anyway we shall see where the new year takes us .
  4. Hey guys check this cool video out! Now to draw my 240z like that .
  5. Hi guys just a reminder, have you sent your entry forms in yet? here is a quote from Don Hill who emailed me. Just a friendly reminder guys!
  6. Here are a couple of shots of the seat reupholstery kits. The photos are not the best as they were taken using a flash as the only light source. The top half of the seat is original and has not been replaced while the bottom half has. In this lighting it looks more obvious that one is newer than the other but in person it is hard to tell. The quality of the pattern on the bottom half is identical to the top and it would take a very trained eye to spot the difference.
  7. Vote for your needs now! http://www.viczcar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1019&start=0 See first post. Depending on results I will try and organise a group buy of items. If something obvious is missing from the list let me know. I am confident I can pretty much source anything through several contacts. So if you really need something don't be affraid to ask.
  8. Hi everyone just browsing good old youtube and found this really cool video of an old rally. You get the see the 240z for a few brief moments and right at the end you see it for a good minute or so. Sounds awesome . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rvbDFKyaA8k
  9. Hi everyone this is a message I received today from Phil Costello at the National Automobile Museum of Tasmania If anyone has an original 240z (ideally an early Z ie:1970 series 1) with original hubcaps etc.. This would be a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure for the website and promote ownership of the 240z and 260z in Australia. I know of a few good looking Zcars in Melbourne but I don't know if they are members of Viczcar.com. Any help tracking down these owners would be appreciated by Philip and myself. Thanks
  10. I'm not sure sorry. I'll wait for the guy from DBA to email me back and ask him then.
  11. Hi everyone, I received an email a little while ago and have finally got around to posting the information for all to see. Here is a snippet from the message:
  12. Hi everyone, I saw some reproduction seat covers. They looked pretty accurate to the original design. I should have taken a photo of them. They were for the car I recently listed on ebay. I'm working towards getting the diamond vinyl kits together. Who is interested in door trims? What would you guys be willing to pay for these items? - Remanufactured Seat Covers - Remanufactured Diamond Vinyl - Remanufactured Door Trims - Carpet Kits I just need to know so I know if it's worthwhile going ahead with everything.
  13. Ok so I might be able to get a hold of 2 LD28 crankshafts. Does anyone here want one? I'm not sure on pricing yet but I'd say it would be between $700-$800. I think that's a pretty good price, I know of a guy in Adelaide who wants $1500 for one. Granted it is brand new (or so he claims). I might be able to arrange a group buy on Interior bits also.
  14. Hey mate, I should be there.
  15. I think Craig is under the impression we were looking to join OZdat. Don't worry our websites will still stay seperate but for the sake of having a larger group to set up deals with we could look at approaching places for offers for both Ozdat and Viczcar members.
  16. Hi guys what about Turbo stuff? Turbo Manifolds Turbo Distributors Turbo ECU's (Although a bit outdated). Turbo Valve Covers? Turbo Oil Pumps P90 Heads? - How much would you want to pay for one?
