  1. I wasn't planning to, because the last shipment only raised a small amount of interest. However I am looking to import roof sections, doors, bonnets, rear 1/4 panels, steel wheels etc.. (second hand) and we could look at rust repair panels also since I believe Tabco won't ship directly to Australia etc...
  2. My panel is still sitting in the garage waiting for fitment, I haven't got onto it yet as I've been busy with the bonnet. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/12272-separating-bonnet-skin-and-frame/ I will document it when I get around to it. My panel teacher at tafe may suggest re-creating the lower section of the panel or repairing the existing piece instead of using this.
  3. I don't think so, try finding 1 to restore and restore it and see how much it costs to do so? Original owner car, unrestored example in great shape. If someone is feeling nostalgic enough they would buy it at that price in my opinion. These will get there in terms of values, they have been a little slow in the uptake but it won't be long before it's normal to see them at these prices.
  4. Great car, love it. Also happy to not see it get "flipped".

    My L24 Build

I'm watching this build with interest, since it's right up the alley of where I want to take my L24 build.
  6. I guess cat is out of the bag now? I was wondering how long it would take folks to notice the change in signature. I had someone else ask about it a month or 2 ago and I have been meaning to start another thread. But the short answer for now is that, yes I have a sub 100 car, numbers matching engine block with 2400 OHC valve cover and 71A gear bag etc.. It's 907 Green which is 1 of my favorite colours on the early cars. Nothing much has happened since I bought it, other than it's moved from NSW down to Victoria. And yes I'm nuts for taking on another project.
  7. So it turns out my gearbox in the car was a 240K box (no reverse gear lock out) and somewhat to my surprise the car would have originally had a 71A gearbox fitted. I recall when I collected the original engine block from Tony he had an early gearbox also. I can't recall for sure but I think he asked if I wanted the 71A box and original tail shaft. I declined at the time... He said it was the original gearbox which I thought odd since I assumed it would have had the 71B from factory since it also had the later console. This car is an early 72 model however and therefore it's likely Tony was correct and it did have a 71 box. As a result, we're looking to use a 71C box (240z bell housing) with the 260z close ratio gear set and this way the gear stick will come out in the correct place. It won't be 100% original, but I don't have a spare 71A gearbox and finding 1 is going to be hard work.
  8. Thanks matey! So it was a CR box? Sulio gave it to me for free ?. It did come out of a 74 260z 2 seater.
  9. No such luck unfortunately.
  10. Not quite I had a deal agreed yesterday with a last minute weasel out. Now wanting to go to auction instead. Really I was calling their bluff on underquoting. Once I make a deal I stick to it, not everyone is the same however. As many trying to buy an S30Z have also discovered. All is fair in love and war of course. I hope it backfires on them today. ? So your assumption is close.
  11. Lol, I was on the road yesterday with only a mobile phone to type on. At some point I wanted to address a couple of things but didn't have wifi at the accommodation I was at. So I have just had to ignore it for now. ? It has indeed been colourful.
  12. 3 or 4 years ago I would have said cut it up to save another. However today I think they are worth saving.
  13. I can imagine any Edward Lee's sourced vehicle would provide endless wonder when placed on a hoist. I still can't decide who is worse used car dealers or real estate agents?
  14. I've got a few, but none I'm willing to sell for what is deemed "reasonable" prices by many . I plan to restore / refurb and sell them.
  15. If someone was to try and reproduce these early style injection systems, are parts out there to piece together a kit? If it was indeed Bosch parts in use, does that mean you could piece together parts off other cars of the same period? By the way what's with the works rally cars and the plastic strut top covers in the engine bay? What was their purpose? Keep dirt out?
  16. I'm not sure why it's so difficult for you the easy part is getting the rods in place. The hard part is getting bonnet alignment right. Gawd..
  17. Pretty sure you missed the sarcasm.
  18. Only get option of first dibs if the first post is a classified ad and the only reason I manually approve first time posts is that we still get spam, even with all the protections in place with this software a couple can still slip through if I don't manually check them. It's painful for me, but I think since I changed the settings and workflow to this way, we haven't had spam posts on the site. So I'm sorry for all those out there hoping to buy Viagra at cheap prices.
  19. Isn't this the same car that was on eBay recently? What did it sell for?
  20. Thanks, we've already been discussing #268 over sms #351 is a bit sad. But someone might save it in future.
  21. I know, I know, I wanted these and almost hesitated to approve the post so I could have them for myself... haha. tempting I know but not fair and I honestly can't justify it right now. So glad temptation is gone.
  22. HS30 10181 is up for auction. Grade R. Currently has L28 in it. http://www.j-spec.com.au/auction/1988orolder/1971-Nissan-Fairladyz-8638238.html Starting bid: 1,480,000 JPY
  23. L23 motor is quite rare and earlier than L20A / L24. Getting harder to find. I think that is the Gosford Museum car. I took photos of 1 that colour and it has the Gosford price tag. There is a Facebook group for global owners prices rarely exceed 8k from what I've seen. Probably worth hanging onto at those prices if any good and rust free. Seems there is a little more interest in the old Cedric's lately but I don't think we'll see 240K prices. I kind of like them also as an old school cruiser you could take the Dog and kids out in.
  24. Yes someone buy it before the speculators who just want to flip it for profit get hold of it.
  25. Get in before the speculators!
