So it's been a long time since my last post but the good news is that there has been an incredible amount of progress on the car. A few years ago I decided to outsource the body work as time and motivation wasn't on my side. Thanks to @datsunrally for the suggestion of Laurie Wilson, he has spent a vast amount of time on the old girl and has got her ready for final blocking and paint. There were a lot of issues with the car that I hadn't picked up on, the majority of which were introduced by previous bodgy repairs as well as a few that I created myself. A new (to me) bonnet, guards and doors moved the project along significantly! Nevertheless, after many hours from Laurie, the car is looking very sharp and is booked in for final blocking and paint in Feb of 26. In the meantime I'm doing the things I enjoy on the car, I've got a CD00X gearbox from a 350z that I'm rebuilding in preperation for the Godzilla Raceworks adaptor kit to allow me to run the newer, stronger 6mt behind the L28ET. I've got the dash booked in to get reskinned next year through dash doctor and I'm currently in the process of stripping down the suspension for powder coating, including redoing the front suspension, the septone chassis black did not hold up well after 8 years in storage. Plenty of other things have happened in the last 5 years, I've managed to establish myself in the automotive engineering field working on some pretty exciting projects, my partner and I purchased a house about 18 months ago (in similar condition to my old datto with it taking up most of my time!) and I've had a bit of fun with other cars (and a tractor!) She's ended up with a bit of filler in her but nothing too crazy, very keen to get her back on the road and put some down some KMs. Also, by chance I met up with some friends at Lindsay's old warehouse which is now a brewery, I was shocked that there wasn't even 1 hotwheels S30 sitting around!
