240ZR Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 As per title, if anyone can help with these plz contact me. Regards, Nick. Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted October 30, 2014 Administrators Posted October 30, 2014 Hi Nick, http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Datsun-260z-coupe-Door-RHS/171521663525 It is apparently a 260z 2 seater. "They came off a 260z two seater 1975 mod." If the seller isn't helpful with shipping let me know? I might be able to collect on your behalf. However if you don't want the door mirror, please let me know? I asked if he would sell separate but didn't respond to that query. Which I assume means no. They are also selling a passenger door. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Datsun-260z-coupe-Door-LHS-/171521665050 It certainly looks like my 240z on the inside but a photo of the hinge and latch area would confirm. 240ZR Posted November 7, 2014 Author Posted November 7, 2014 Thanx for the heads up Gav but these must be late doors as they have a slightly different shape at the dog leg... besides, only after the shell. Anyone else? Quote
Retro Z Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 No they are definately 74-75 2-seater doors. Later doors have a different catch mechanism and different cutouts on the inside. I have the same type of door shell (74 260z) on my 240z. Quote
gilltech Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 FWIW if the price was sensible I'd take the door glass as a spare if it's the correct light blue tint which it should be, for my '74 260 2-seat. Problem is I'm in Brisbane, so probably not practical. Quote
240ZR Posted November 8, 2014 Author Posted November 8, 2014 They are definitely different to the doors on my '76 model. Mine does have the same latch & striker plate as a 240Z as well as the same curve at the bottom corner where it meets the dog leg. These ones on don't have as much of a rounded curve. Quote
gilltech Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 Well something doesn't add up with respect to 260 2-seat door variations...you lost me. Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted November 9, 2014 Administrators Posted November 9, 2014 Yeah I'm confused also, time for photos of said door perhaps? Quote
Retro Z Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 Strange. 76,77 should have the later style catch system. Of the dozen or so Z's (2+2 and 2-seaters) ive owned or chopped up over the years that seemed consistant. I have a 73 240z aswell as a 75 260z and their doors interchange (identical to the red one for sale on ebay) I even bought a 77 door once by mistake and it bolted up but due to the different catch it obviously couldnt stay closed. I even cut and shut a 75 2+2 door which also worked on my 240z. So you reckon the later doors have a different curve near the dogleg? Have you actually tried to fit other doors or just eyeballing? There have been many people who modify their 240z to run the later catch or doors and vice-versa aswell as my previous experiences. So im lost.. Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted November 9, 2014 Administrators Posted November 9, 2014 That photo above is a later 260z door with latch correct Tai? Here are some early 240z style door photos for reference. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,4189.msg155293.html#msg155293 Early 240z style door. eBay door. (75 260z 2 seater?) The circular cut out at the bottom looks different. Quote
Retro Z Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 That photo above is a later 260z door with latch correct Tai? Yeah Gav its a later (so i believe) 76-77 doors that i just got off google images. Here are pics of my 75 260z door on my 73 240z. I have also confimed 74 260z door is identical to 75 doors. They are different to 240z doors but they fit fine. Quote
Retro Z Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 So moral of the story is the OP can buy those ebay doors and it will fit as i have shown. Quote
