RapidFix beats plastic welding and 1001 uses

Well i stumbled across this product at SprintAuto Parts while buying new leads for the Rx7.

 

looked at their video and thought yeah right. as if.

 

But if it worked would be good. I needed strong glue to repair my demister tab that broke off on the back of the rx7 and recently a welded tab on the radiator that holds the upper part of shroud broke off. When engine is at higher rpm the fan sucks the shroud down and hits the fan damaging both.

 

Only fix for radiator is rip out and take it to radiator place for a fix cause I suck at oxy welding. 

 

checked the price and wasn't cheap. hmm maybe this does work. Typical sales guys yep it works, but said if don't to bring it back. Cool so forked out $35 for 2x10mil bottles.  ouch

 

first job was to fix that bracket on radiator. should be interesting. Lead, Copper and Steel. followed the instruction stuck on pretty hard. painted over it so looks like normal solder weld refit the shroud. 1week later and 6500Rpm every day. still on and hasn't broken off.

 

I was amazed. so than i tried it on some of my trim that had broken clips. 10sec later yep. all fixed . Fixed my remote control battery covers, metal spray nozzle that snapped when i dropped it on concrete fixed my damaged center console without any evidence of it being fixed went bit stupid after that testing it on anything i can think off. oh and tab stuck on glass like crazy. will post up a "fix your demister" soon.

 

so don't waste your time melting and inhaling melted plastic repairing your interior stuff and still its piss weak. this stuff really works.

 

i don't have anything to do with them or to have a reason to promote. just promoting not to waste your time.

 

Its bit of some sort of super glue with bit of Pixie dust that makes it work. i think glue is maybe slightly better super glue but the Pixie dust what makes it set straight away and make a really hard bond.

3m do a rely good one but its close to $80 a tube it works out cheaper to plastic weld, so we plastic weld. But there are plastics that can not be welded like in fpv front bars so some times you need it

Yep that RapifFix stuff is awesome. I use it on everything!

its working so far but then again its only early days yet. but was easy to work with.
