Retro Z Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Hey guys wondering if anyone knows what model/part number/year brake caliper rebuild kit i need to suit my non vented s12+8 Hilux front calipers and R31 skyline calipers. Have seen a heap of rubber rebuild kits on ebay but unsure which exactly i need as i am not sure what model or year these calipers came from and have heard there are several types dependant on model. Calipers are -Toyota Hilux 4 runner s12+8 calipers -Nissan Skyline r31 silouette rear calipers. Thanks Quote
mossy Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 If you don't want to rebuild the r31 calipers yourself try better brakes mitcham as I took my old ones in there from the wreckers and did a changover for some rebuilt ones on the shelf, forget the actual cost but from memory i was very happy with the price. Retro Z Posted December 5, 2012 Author Posted December 5, 2012 Thanks Mark i'll look them up and ask. Quote
MaygZ Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 There are 2 types of rebuild kits for the Hilux. One for the one with pistons the same size and one for the odd sized pistons. I recommend you ask Ash at morrabbin auto spares to get you the R31 kits also. I spent quite some time trying to chase them done and he got them for me in a couple of days. Quote
Scoota G Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 None of the ebay kits come with the 4 seals inbetween the calipers which imho would never need to be changed. Failing that you can use the seals for the inbetween bits from your old calipers (i did this). As Simon Said just make sure you get the right set and it's alllll Money! Quote
sexual_sushi Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Yeah go speak to Ash at Morrabbin Auto Spares, my hilux calipers are with him atm. He is great to deal with Quote

zr240 Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Thanks for the plug sushi Let me know if you still need the kits. We can supply just the kits or can do the rebuild. We can also get the pistons for the hills calipers if yours are pitted. Ash Quote
