Cozza Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 Good info. So, just out of interest what is the bore size on the R33 master cylinder? Quote
OZZ240 Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 Good info. So, just out of interest what is the bore size on the R33 master cylinder? The R33 is 15/16" Nissan also do a 1" and 1-1/16" as well but they are from different models from memory I think they are from GTR and 300ZX (Z32) Quote
twoforty z Posted July 22, 2017 Posted July 22, 2017 Hey ladies and gents, About to undertake this mod, picked up my r33 booster yeaterday. My question is, judging by pictures posted you dont need to retain the proportional valve, but can you still use it? Means i can still use the brake warning light wiring and fewer/shorter hard lines need to be made/modified. Quote
KatoKid Posted July 23, 2017 Author Posted July 23, 2017 You can retain the valve (its a pressure differential, not proportioning valve) and still use the original brake warning light wiring. Or you can ditch the valve and just use the float level switch in the master cylinder reservoir. I wanted to use an adjustable proportion valve in my set up and the engineer was fine with ditching the old valve and using the MC float switch in its place. The float switch just needs one earth and the other goes straight to the original single wire for the warning light. twoforty z 1 Quote
twoforty z Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 Thanks mate, good to know. Just want to retain a "stock look" for inspection Quote
KatoKid Posted December 10, 2017 Author Posted December 10, 2017 Should we sticky after confirmation there are no issues with installation and use? Just in case... Brilliant write up David; might have to do it when all the zed boosters are dead and buried. Unfortunately Dmitri isn't active here anymore but I can confirm 100% that this booster/master combination works very well with upgraded calipers. Really powerful, optimum pedal stroke and easy to modulate. Big tick from me! Quote
280zUSA Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 Hey guys, I have a 15/16 master sitting around if anyone is interested? Cheers David http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/15191-brake-master-cylinders-781516-and-34-clutch-master/?do=findComment&comment=200999 Quote
