aussie240z Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Guys Hoping to get some clarification. Did a search on the forum to see if prior positing, but no luck. Wanted to find out if the 240Z metal dash structure was the same physical size/mounts as the 260Z dash. I have a 260Z one that i was planning to rebuild for my 240Z but wanted to check prior to putting any effort in and didn't particularly want to to remove the existing 240Z one just to check it that way. Any informed advice would be appreciated thanks Ian Quote
Gordo Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 I would say Dimitri would now this one (zedman) I would think putting a 260 dash into a 240 would would detract a little . Also the wire connections would differ. Do what some guys have done and put the 260 speedo in so you have kph. Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted September 24, 2012 Moderators Posted September 24, 2012 Mounts are the same but the metal frame is different. The gauges mount in a different way compared to each other. You can just put a 260 dash in a 240 but you would have to use the 240 loom. Quote
aussie240z Posted September 24, 2012 Author Posted September 24, 2012 Thanks guys. Loom and gauges not a major issue as doing a custom rally dash etc. was more concerned with the physical mounting of the metalwork. Appreciate the inputs Cheers Quote
Lucas Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Sorry to bring back an old topic, but does anyone know if 260z gauges are the same size as 240z? Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted July 12, 2014 Administrators Posted July 12, 2014 Size wise I'm fairly positive they are the same. Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted July 13, 2014 Moderators Posted July 13, 2014 Sizes are the same but rear housing is different. 240's use a small "L" bracket while the 260's use a metal strap to hold in place. Speedo and tacho mount the same though. Quote
