New Melbourne/Sydney member

Hey guys this is my second post so forgive me. I bought a 260z 2+2 a couple of months ago off a fellow forum member. The car is in Melbourne but I spend most of my time in Sydney due to uni committments. Was devo that I couldn't make the classic car show in Dandenong as I had to leave that morning. I'm sure many of you would've been there in full glory. I look forward to being a part of this close community!

Yes Lynton, good eye, it's sitting on yellow springs, which I believe are Kings..

You'd think with the longer wheelbase on the 2+2 that it would be a bit of a problem over humps, but no major problems yet.

Some more info on the car:

 

I bought it as a second car that I plan to restore when/if i graduate from uni, which should be in a few years time. There are a couple of bubbles of rust on the rear windshield and on the lower door as well as a poorly done welding job at the end of the glass on the engine side of the driver's door. I have a folder of receipts from which I can paint a vague picture of what's been done to the car. It has 6>2>1 extractors, had the heads redone in 2005 and venetians in the back. The exhaust is aftermarket and emits the perfect tone. It still has the stock L26, whose rumble I just can't get enough of. She starts up no problems even though she's 35+ years old. The gearbox is a bit dodge- 1st gear has to pushed twice, going into second always shudders the car unless you change at high revs and reverse sometimes refuses to engage. Although this could be due to my lack of skill with the manual transmission as well!!

 

So far, this car has given me immense joy and though I'm 1000km away most of the time, I still can't stop thinking about it. Would LOVE to bring it up to Sydney but the place I'm staying at currently doesn't have a garage- which I believe is mandatory for the old Z's...

Please leave it that original colour and combination. I even like the venetian blinds in the back. I've seen it in some Z's now, but can't work out if it is an option (from the dealers back in the day) or something added by owners later?

 

Just oozes 70's look as it is and looks very tidy.

 

It was a 260z 2+2 in that exact colour that got me started on Z's some 12 years back now

The internal metal venetians were after market however they were standard in some European cars eg; the Lancia HPE hatch. I Had a venetian in my 2+2 but took it out and raffled it off through the NDSOC for the club coffers before moving to the Sunshine Coast. However my work activity is bringing me back to Melbourne for a while...... minus my 260z but I may bring it down later, will wait see? Lynton

Ye, it seems in this case that it was aftermarket.
