jamo240 Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Hey gang Does anyone have a set of original belts they're willing to part with? I'm after the original look and need to pension off the Honda belts that are in the car now. Cheers Jamo Quote
luvemfast Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 So how does that "original look" go with your RB25DET? Lol Quote
d3c0y Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 To be honnest i think you are nuts wanting to put 40 year old seat belts in your car. Crash = death enough in a 240Z let along when your seatbelts snap. Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted March 9, 2012 Administrators Posted March 9, 2012 The original belts hook into each other in the middle do they not? And they also keep coming undone if not on tight enough? I think my passenger side belt is still original and it's not very reassuring. Sure it looks cute, but safety first IMO. Quote
jamo240 Posted March 9, 2012 Author Posted March 9, 2012 That will be enough out of you Simon!!....an RB25DET is exactly what Datsun wanted to put in the 240's, but the timing was wrong! Just think of mine as a 432T Z! You are all correct in that modern inertia belts are more user friendly, but I am not convinced they work any better than the originals provided the webbing is in good condition and they are adjusted correctly...obviously you can't move around while driving as easily though when they are...a bit like race car harnesses...everything has to be in reach. I am happy to re-web the belts if the fabric is suspect...anyway, let me know if you have a set you reckon are past it. Cheers lads Jamo Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted March 9, 2012 Moderators Posted March 9, 2012 I have a box full of belts, just not sure if there are any 240 ones. I'll check as soon as I have a chance. Quote
