Hey guys,

Finally got the thumbs up from the Minister of Finance, so I'm chasing down a 260z/280ZX 2+2 Seater.  Not overly fussed on condition/if running.  Basically planning on rebuilding from the ground up.  Have a car trailer so I can pickup.  I'm located in 4510 (Caboolture) so the closer the better but can travel.

Reply here or email shortielah(at)gmail.com if you have anything or see anything that may be worthwhile.

Thanks all!

Few replies, anyone else have/know of any others?

Patience grasshopper.

Check the usual places. ie carsales, ebay

One will pop up that you'll love.

In the meantime, save your pennies.  ;)

If you think you can weld, can cut things up, know how to put things back together, well, talk to Patch, and PZG302, both here in Brissy, pick up the two, and make a good "one".

Pzg's rear half is an early liteweight 240, the front is a bit bented but!

That'd give you something to do, over many weekends, and, keep you out of the clutches of the Ministry of War,

Actually the front half of mine looks  fine except a bit of rust on the radiator support , if the fire wall back is fine on PZG302 and chassis numbers are fine  joining them would make a fine 240z , I need a roof for my 240z and the back half is rusted on the 260 2+2.

If you want to go 260z 2+2 sexual_sushi  who is in Brisbane had a good shell, and that with my chopped up minus roof would give you a whole usable  car.

There are heaps around, what is your budget. I have one in my shed that I am about to chop up.

For a shell I'd be looking  up to aroud the 1200 mark.

For running I'd be looking at anything up to around 2500.

Will still look at any outside that price range, but that's what I've been 'authorised' for :(.

If some pictures can be emailed/posted that would be awesome.  Now that I've actually managed to get her to look at a picture of one, she's a lot more lenient (turns out she actually likes them!).

Thanks all

EDIT:  I should probably mention that I'm hoping to be able to use it for a daily for the next few months while I organise the rest of the parts.  Don't have much storage space at the moment unfortunately due to an extra 2 people moving into our house.  Hence I've lost my garage for the next few months.

Well there are a number of 2+2's on the market at present, some driving, others are projects-in-waiting. But if you expect to use one as a daily for a while before tearing into it then surely you'll have to up your budget a fair bit - 2500 is a bit optimistic for a roadworthy.

As per countless other post advices on this forum bide your time to put your money in to buying the best body shell you can, it will save you much money & time in the long run. Fixing up a rusty car well is very time consuming & with all the repair work there's always the risk of rust eventually returning.

I know it's a little optimistic but the Minister of Finance has ordered it :(.  Anything over that and she wants me to get a 300zx...  Both noted though, thanks.

Hi, I have just joined this site as of today 29/11/11, I am the third owner of a running 1982 Nissan/Datsun 280zx 2+2 that has 271612km's on the odometer with near perfect red velour interior (i think thats what its called) & a sound body apart from some damage to the front left corner & some rust. The car can be roadworthied as is & has been undercover at my parents home in Rockhampton for approximately one year, as i now reside in w.a I am looking to sell her. I will consider any reasonable offer. I would love to have the time to undertake the project you are looking to begin as i love the look of the Z models. I have included some photos and will be posting her in the classifieds asap. I have many more photos of her so if your interested please e-mail or reply to this post.

Thanks,
