I would take some basic spares in advance:

- Spark Plugs

- Distributor cap

- Distributor lead

- Fuel filter

- basic tool kit etc...

Perhaps also have a couple of contacts in between (members who can help out if you get stuck close to their locations etc..)

But as others have said the L-series is pretty much bomb proof provided it's got good oil, recently been serviced. I'd be more worried about brakes, suspension, fumes (tail area), rust etc..

This was sold between 2000-2500 about 6-8 months ago and it sold for a little more before that, i believe this is the third time its being offered for sale this year. It had one year worth of rego on it, when it last sold it was in Newcastle i believe and before that it was in Bankstown and according to the add it is now in Ashfield.

Makes you wonder why its getting passed around so much, just some info for a prospective buyer, in other words be wary.

Errrr guys, bulleyboy99 was asking about driving to Perth. I know zeds are generally reliable but that sort of drive in an unproven car might be asking for trouble. If you do take it on I'd also take a torque wrench, upper and lower radiator hoses and a large container of water........a mobile phone might become your best friend :)

If the car can do ( 400km+) wihtout a sweat. Drives perfect. why would it not get to Perth. Other than being pulled up for the rust.

How far do you need to drive before the car is a proven car,

20 min drive will tell you what it is like and as long as the hoses don't look like they are about to fall apart I would drive it.
