Triple 2" SU manifold.

  :-\ I have an opportunity to buy a Triple 2" SU mnfld with matching carbs (brand new) at a good price. Just wondering if It's ok to use 1.3/4" SU's with this mnfld instead of the 2" units.  My intention is to sell the 2" carbs. Thoughts please Fella's'

just to clarrify here...the manifold comes with 3x  New "2" SU's  and youd want to sell them ?? seems a shame to buy the setup only to sell the carbs.

but having said that  "personally" I prefer 1 3/4 anyway.

I believe tripple 2" su's is "roughly" equivalent in capacity to having tripple 48-50 dcoes...its getting up there and you could be entering the unknown.

Do a google on "240z triple su" you will find a number of debates about using triple SU's on a L6 - thing like firing order, dead air etc. I did read that if the manifold is designed correctly with the correct balance setup this dead air issue goes away. However the stock SU's with Ztherapy needles works very well on a L6 including modified items.

 

So with the issues of the triple SU's question is why bother? Stick with the stock stuff and get them right or move to triple DCOE setups which are known to work - triples SU have issues if what I have read is true.

Oh bugga!!, failed to mention that the motor is L28 60Thou O/size bore, with Elctrnc dizzy. Understand that there is too many dramas with fitting smaller needle's to the 2" carbs, thats why I'm going with 1.3/4" units which are HIF variety. My concern is the vacuum that ensues from larger bore of mnfld may be detrimental to them working effectively . Thanks for the quick response guy's.
