Hi Guys

Found build no 517 on a farm in country vic on w/end, and bought it. Been sitting in the shed (dry & under & car cover) for 12 years only driven every 6 months by a guy in his mid sixties. Recon its done 400km in that time.

Very straight, almost no rust to speak of, few small holes in the floor around where a previous repair jobs was done, straight frame rails and a little rust in the usual z problem areas.

Interior is aclass 80's botch job, sports seats (yuck), 8 ball as gear nob (classic) and hession for carpet. Some of the diamond still their along with centre console.

Running a L28 with 5 speed, on 240 carbs, comes with bags of parts.

There are cars hiding out in country vic so don't stop looking over peoples back fences & down the side streets, it took me 10yr to find this one. Still its not what u know but who u know in the quest for the z.

Got lots a photos on the phone but can't get them to up load yet.

Thanks Bruce

Mates dad was stiring me bout not fixing my bent z & commented there

was a parts z on there small town notice board for sale. Thought it would

be a 2+2 or 280, they know nothing bout z's, but it was only 200km out

of my way, a nice drive for sunday so i went to have a look at the advert.

Turns out its much better than a parts car.

Short term, plan is to put it on club plates, make sure its mechanically reliable & take it to nationals as is, dirt & all.

After that, use interior & what ever else i need for the orange z, (the one from tamsamia for those who know it) to do this one up, from there anything is possible

Cheers

Well done Dale that sounds like a real find and at a bargain I am guessing. Well compared to what I know some people would pay for that one. Let's see the pictures when you get them. So you will finally be vack on the road in a Zed. Maybe the wait will be worth it.

I will keep an eye out for it at the Nationals.

Awesome stuff Dale.

What are you going to do with the shell after you strip it for the parts you need?

They look good Dale.

I reckon you could maybe get 6-7K for that as it is presuming it is straight with minimal rust like you say. Do it justice in your restoration. :)
