peter t Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Hi I am after a 75 260 2+2 hazard switch and wiring with plug. I have a switch but PO cut off the wires and plug and plug has been cut off harness so I have no idea what wires go together as all wires in harness are black. Any help appreciated. Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted January 24, 2011 Moderators Posted January 24, 2011 Is your loom with the white plug with the 5 round pins about an inch wide? If so I have one here.. Quote
peter t Posted January 24, 2011 Author Posted January 24, 2011 Ok here are some pics of the good loom and the not so good loom. As you can see one has the female conectors for the hazard switch and not sure what the other one is for. Maybe the choke light. Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted January 24, 2011 Moderators Posted January 24, 2011 Your hazard switch plug is in the 1st and 3rd pic; one with the white plug with the green loop in it. Remove that and your indicators stop working. Mine has a different connector. Quote
peter t Posted January 24, 2011 Author Posted January 24, 2011 Now I am confused. Both looms have the plug with the green loop. Cannot trace these wires as all wires in the loom are black. All I need is a Switch with the plug attached if anyone has one. Quote
zeds4ever Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Pete ,choke unit has a green terminal fitting as is its mating unit. The hazard unit is a five male pin white terminal, all wires are green with three of them with identifying traces, black/white/green line in each. Regards : Alan. Quote
peter t Posted January 25, 2011 Author Posted January 25, 2011 Thanks for your help but I still need a switch and wire with connector. Quote
peter t Posted January 26, 2011 Author Posted January 26, 2011 Have got it figured out. The bottom plug with green loop is for radio, centre off white is the hazard and right plug is for power aerial. Rear defogger and light connected. Now all I have to find is the hazard switch with wires and plug attached. Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted January 26, 2011 Moderators Posted January 26, 2011 The plug with the green looped wire is for the hazards. Quote
peter t Posted January 26, 2011 Author Posted January 26, 2011 Thanks mate. Do you still have that 260 switch. Found plenty of 240's on e-bay in the USA and some 260/280. My book has all wiring harnesses except the console one. Looks like there were different requirements for different countries so it was easier to leave it out of the book. Quote
zeds4ever Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 Pete ,the unit I have is a five pin male set up, looking at your pics they are a spade cnctn. Regards : Alan. Quote
peter t Posted January 27, 2011 Author Posted January 27, 2011 Alan the plug with the green loop is male on the loop side and female on the loom side. I am still not sure which one is the hazard plug and which one is the radio as I have stated the console loom is not in the book and I don't have the original radio. Could I trouble you to post me your switch and see if it fits and works. Bit much to ask someone to pull out their console to have a look for me and would not expect it. The switches I have seen on e-bay don't show the plug clearly so maybe you could take a close up pic and maybe I can figure it out from there. Thanks for all your help. Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted January 27, 2011 Moderators Posted January 27, 2011 Peter, I've edited your pic to show whats what and in the second pic, Ive taken a shot of my hazard switch (a tad fuzzy though) but you can tell the different type of plug compared to your loom.. Quote
peter t Posted January 27, 2011 Author Posted January 27, 2011 I can see now that is not going to fit. Thanks for all your trouble. Reddat in the states have some that look good but shiver, surley there is someone in Aus that has a spare one. Quote
zeds4ever Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 Pete , why cant you change the terminal plugs to suite or are you staying original. The switch I have is exactly the same as in fuzzy pic. From memory it came out of a 2+2 but i'm not 100% sure. What abt one from a 280 set up. Might be the best way to ID your hzrd wires at consul is to set a feed back from you blinker lghts themselves. Something of that nature should work. Regards : Alan. Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted January 27, 2011 Moderators Posted January 27, 2011 I know Repco sell these Narva 6 pin spade plug connectors; you can just chop off and replace it with your own plug. Unless you want it 100% original then disregard! Quote
