acf321 Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 Hi All For all you guys that have removed your hand throttle and choke assembly's, I am looking for a plastic hand throttle knob for the centre console of my 71 240Z. I have added a photo of exactly what I need. In this photo, the actual knob I need is the one on the right hand side, I have the left hand (choke) one. Note also, it has a screw in the side, so if you have the knob, its likely the screw will be there too. If you have one lying about the shed, or know where I can get one, please PM me. Many thanks, in advance. Rgds Adam Quote

NZeder Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 There was only so many that came out with a hand throttle, yes? Yes and no Re the 2 partnumber = different shapes. One is more square looking the other is more curved. I can't recall which is the earlier type mind you. Back to the yes and no bit. Your question "There was only so many that came out with the hand throttle?" Yes that is true but unlike the US which had regulations changes that all but enforced the cut over from having a hand throttle to not having one the RHD models don't have an exact chassis number when these were removed from the production line. I have seen (what I would call the cross over cars) 71 cars with them, and lower (only just) chassis numbers cars without them. So my best guess was the assembly line just used them up on these cross over cars until the new units/design were installed. However this is just my best guess I was not on the production line in the 70's infact I was still in nappies or still baking during 70/71. Quote
Zedsabbath Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 I bought this one on eBay, it seems to be a reject from the factory, the plastic is sunken right where the white diagram is...it owes me a fair bit but I'll take a loss, $28 + postage Pete Quote
