I'm with KatoKid,

E46 M3 or the new one.

But if it was the E46... I'd try to find an unmolested one without the rear-subframe issue and then make it bulletproof.

If you guys haven't seen it... it's an interested read. Basically there is an engineering flaw in the rear suspension mount points on the E46. Literally cracks the frame and dislodges itself. All E46 models suffer through this. Even more so the E46 M3 as the chassis has been stiffened. BMW aren't doing a recall and says its natural wear and tear. Biggest BS considering its a major design flaw.

But still, the look and sound of an E46 M3... yea... worth the trouble.

Hmmmz well i have an Alfa 105 GTV and a 535i manual for a daily which gets the job done...

But if i had deep pockets i would go all out on a KPGC110 GTR clone, or because i'm still an Alfa tragic i would build an 80's GTV6 or IMSA bodied Alfa 75 with an angry NA 24V stroked to 3.7L, 6 throttle bodies with velocity stacks sticking out the bonnet ;D. Then i would ditch the poor excuse of a gearbox and put a getrag 6pd up front or adapt a Porker 928 or corvette transaxle in the rear to keep a nice balance.

But in this colour:

It was the green one (pictured above) as seen in the movie, The Rookie that caught my eye and have loved the Esprit ever since.

I like the Alfa Montreal. cant find a pic, looks good, had a  MASARATI V6.

If you're saying the Montreal had a Maserari V6 in it, you're a long way from correct.  It was an Alfa designed 2.6 litre V8 with Spica mechanical fuel injection.  A modified version of that V8 (3 litre) was also used for boat racing...

The Fiat 130 V6 was very loosely based on the Dino engine, the 130 engine was a single cam per bank and the Dino engine has quad cams.

There was a 130 coupe on ebay several months ago with a Toyota 1uzfe V8 conversion and it only sold for $6,800 from memory.

Cool looking car but the headlights alone are worth what a decent driver would sell for.

And yes... the Montreal looks awesome, only 80 or so came to Australia but they pop up for sale around the $25k to $50k mark.

The small capacity dry sumped V8 with its flat-plane crank sounds unreal.
