260z blues Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 hey all. have always been a toyota person and been into first gen celicas, but also loved the lines and style of the 240/260z. Now that i almost have my celica to an acceptable level i am on the lookout for a 240/260z as i have always wanted one but never had the funds or known anyone else into them. The celicas have very little and subtle changes throughout the car (dash colour/seat material/gaurd shape) etc etc. Is there somewhere on this site that shows all the little changes these cars had thru the years and maybe also options that were not avaiable in aus. Also if anyone knows of a structually good 240 or 260 2 seater would love to hear from you. Quote
RBZ 260 Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Welcome! Nice celica. Always had a soft spot for those. But being Nissan/datsun freak I never got into toyotas. Like the JDM look of urs. As for ur questions there are few post in the forum plus google. Lots of blogs outlining little differences. Preety much like the lica the s1 240z had few different body changes like rear hatch wents non reclining seats etc.. The later are fairly similar. The later 260z came in two seater and 2+2 4 seater bodies. The main difference being 2.6l engine instead of 2.4 different dash and center console, seats and rear lights the last of the 260z had few changes compared to the earlier ones. Ie door locking mechanisms and interior changes. In short 2 seaters 240 and 260z look identical on the outside while 260z 2+2 is bit stretched 30cm longer. Take some time searching through the forum it will all make sense in few weeks Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted March 16, 2010 Moderators Posted March 16, 2010 Welcome... Love the colour of your Celica there.. Friend had a TA22 but the main problem was rust all along the sills! Had a nice twin cam with Webbers; went well but shame about the body! Quote
sexual_sushi Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Someone get this man a Z so he can restore it to a similar "acceptable level". Nice ride, good luck with the search. Quote
