NZeder Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Ok looking at a 260z 2 seater on carsales I spotted this steering wheel. Can anybody id it? It looks to be mounted without a boss and from the size about 360mm with a nice thick grip. Would be keen to know if this is still available - I have a Nissan Compe wheel already but this looks like a good alternative for those who don't want to pay/import a Nissan Compe from Japan. Quote
PZG302 Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Looks like an old SAAS wheel to my eyes, and probably from the '80's with a small boss. You should still be able to get the boss kit from SAAS, but not sure on the wheel. Quote
hunterzed Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Yeah, Its a SAAS wheel. A mate had the exact same one on his RX4. They had a rubber grip on them but some of the later ones had leather and wood as well. Quote
T.A.P Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 NZeder Ive got a similar one (pictured), the dud who I bought it from said it came from a rally datsun, the horn button says datsun. The boss I got is an extended boss and made in France, nice setup which allows me to slide the seat back quite a bit and still feel comfortable. Quote
herrods Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 if NZeder isnt interested, how much u want for the wheel kit? about how much further back does it set the wheel from OEM position? Cheers Dave Quote
. Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Mine is the same. It also has the "Datsun" horn button. I think the wheel was made by SAAS (Mine has a sticker) but I guess the sticker could have been added. Just like I think the horn button was added. Quote
dazzed Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 with out a doubt i have one too hanging on my wall it was given to me a week after i purchased a momo wheel ,and the saas is a better wheel, and leather not vinyl Quote
NZeder Posted August 18, 2010 Author Posted August 18, 2010 Thanks to all that replied and helped with the I'd of the wheel Quote
