mrp69 Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 hey guys as topic states cv conversion for my 240z the unis cant handle the power let me know what u got peter Quote
PeterAllen Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 These are the OUTER couplings I've made for a Holden CV and axle (I'm using a Holden diff). If the output flange from the diff is the same four bolt patten then I can't see why you couldn't use four of them with Holden CVs. The problem might be the cost of having new axles made. The quotations I've had so far are between $200-$400 each. Quote
NZeder Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 That reminds me I need to follow up on my custom CV build. Going by maths, my hybrid of Nissan parts will work, I just need my mate to machine a new c-clip groove in the axles so I can assemble and test, I have been waiting 6 months now. Quote

nat0_240_chevZ Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 if using r200 diff & 24 spline (240z) companion flanges and stub shafts, grab 280zx r200 cv joints, and the 280zx r180 cv companion flanges only, direct bolt up with the ommision or changing of the dust seal ring on the comp flanges. nat0 Quote
Mr240z Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 Try SW Motorsport, Thats who sorted george's problem once and for all.. http://www.swmotorsport.com.au/index.html?lang=en-us&target=d128_01.html Quote
zedevan Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 i thought datrats were meant to be about the best around. would be intereste to know if they'd work on an r200 (ie when changing from an r180 do u have to change the half shafts?) http://www.datrats.com.au/Gearbox%20&%20Diff.html Quote
RB30X Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 if using r200 diff & 24 spline (240z) companion flanges and stub shafts, grab 280zx r200 cv joints, and the 280zx r180 cv companion flanges only, direct bolt up with the ommision or changing of the dust seal ring on the comp flanges. nat0 I thought r180's had 25 splines and r200's 28??? nat0_240_chevZ Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 SORRY 25 companion flange & stub axle, Not 24 as mentioned above, 29 spline refers to diff output. all this is from memory when i looked at this, there is an extensive thread in sco_aus's post about the diff side of things, not so much about the companion flanges and stub axles but, as to achieving the cv coversion. Peter if you still have an r180, you will have to swap out the centre as it is bolt in halfshafts where the 280zx r180 outputs are circlip pop in/out style, but there is a stock cv solution either way, also could use the z31 cv shafts as they have the same flange face for the cv shaft, 3 x 2 bolt pattern.
