Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Im looking for a new brake master cylinder, its for an early '71 (pre-september) model 240z. PBR number is JB1020. Having no luck with repco, sprint auto or car parts plus. Iv got a quote for getting it resleaved at $240! or i can order a new one from the states for $232USD. Anyone have a new one they can sell or know of a supplier that has them in stock?

that would be great Mr240z. I was pretty peeved this afternoon when i was told the part was in stock, drove across town in peak hour traffic and found he had a jb1133 (post 9/1971). I had even called back before i went to confirm that it was for an early '71, because he hadnt asked for the year initially

Mr240z - any luck with your contact? Iv found one that is located at allZparts but its being held for another person looking for a 240z brake MC. I dont suppose that would be you?

Just a quick comment....

I probably won't respond as in Tokyo at the moment but,

Do you need the early 240Z master cylinder for originiality? (are you doing concourse etc).

It is possible to fit later ones...I have 280(?) Master and Vac as part of my brake upgrade (my early one was shot too). If you cannot source an original one, consider fitting a later one unless you going concourse.

Autopro Homebush (02) 9764 4360..

I couldn't get up there so I rang them up and he said he has 2 on the shelf (PBR)

There been sitting there so long the part numbers have faded off but the rep came in

and thats what they are..

Thanks mr240z, will give them a call this week & get a price. Warren also came through for me as his other customer didnt want it, but I'm actually waiting to hear back from a local I met yesterday who may have something in his shed.

Hey huw, i specified early '71 as there is a difference after 8/71, front and rear circuits are switched, pushrod depth changes & front and rear outlets are closer, meaning a change in booster assembly if I want to use a brake MC from a later zed & redoing the brake lines (not enough play & too brittle to muck around with).
