davethesparky Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 Hi all,i recently purchased a 1975 260 z 2+2 coupe which has had a 280 z motor fitted and i am toying with the idea of fitting a twin exhaust system.I was just wanting a bit of feedback from anyone who has done this or anybodys opinion about the idea.Cheers Dave.... chartoo Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 Are you talking dual exhausts (twin system aka v8 style) or to a double pipes ( two pipes running down the same side), Ive seen quite a few yanks do that with the I6? Quote
davethesparky Posted December 15, 2009 Author Posted December 15, 2009 one pipe either side like da v8`s Quote
chartoo Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 I spent a lot of time thinking about this as a love the look a the back. However there is a few stumbling blocks. First there isnt room at the back with the fuel tank to run another muffler. So that means either chopping out the spare wheel well and running a fuel cell to make room or fitting some other small tank. Then the other problem is that a I6 will not sound too good through dual exhausts. I decided against it in the end. Too much time money and effort for an average sounding exhaust system that looks fantastic Check out my research / ramblings here http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,5977.0.html Quote
davethesparky Posted December 16, 2009 Author Posted December 16, 2009 Thank you to all that replied about dual exhausts for my 75 260z,sounds like a whole lotta trouble and money.single 2.25 inch may be the way to go. Quote

Mr Camouflage Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 double pipes ( two pipes running down the same side), Ive seen quite a few yanks do that with the I6? They are just copying the JDM style. "Twice Pipes" were an option on the Z in Japan. Quote
