kakarot Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 Hey there guys! I'm just wondering if anyone knows of any magazines that are dedicated to Jap Classics eg 240z/Fairlady, 2000GT etc etc that are available for purchase? I prefer magazines in English as I'd like to actuallly understand what I'm reading but if anyone knows of any in Japanese, I'd much appreciate any information. Ohh and I've subscribed to JNC Car Mag but it just doesn't seem to fill my appetite! =) Cheers! Quote
Cdr Zero Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 Try Banzai magazine, it's got old and new japanese cars. I think it's based in England. It's focused more on the new side of things though. http://www.banzaimagazine.com/ Quote
George Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 JNC seem to be good but damn it feels like ages in between issues. Quote
Riceburner Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 Yeah JNC is usually 5-6mnths between issues. Some times if I need a fix I go on ebay and get Lightening auto or Nostalgic Hero Japanese mags, no english. Some of their zeds are unbelieveable, they even feature ex works race zeds! Quote
Huw Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 If you can navigate the Japanese....Nostalgic Heroe (which regularly feature zed's, 2000gt's old skylines etc.....couple of whacky one's too.) and Lightning auto (again in Japanese) are very good. They have some very nice zed's, couple of really nice articles on a rocky auto zed with a NA RB26 in it....etc etc as well as more original ones. Quote
OZ001 Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 i read alot of g-works magazine. i get it from the bookstore in the city cant remember the price, i think its around <30 bucks a copy? if anyone wants one i can get it for u, but stocks are really limited i usually get the first one then there would be about 3-4 left on shelf and they go out quick. image from JNC Edit: everything is in japanese... alot of pictures so u wont need to read.. Riceburner Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 G-works eh, i thinks i may be getting some of these, which book stores are they available from? (i'm in melb). Quote
kakarot Posted December 11, 2009 Author Posted December 11, 2009 Cdr Zero:Thanks for the heads up on Banzai. Gareth. J. The store's in Sydney, not sure if they send interstate though. I think the stores' name is Kinokuniya? (kinokuniya.com) I haven't been able to check out the store yet but will sometime soon.. Yeah, JNC is great not just for the pictures but more so because its like a history book about cars. It is a shame about the long waiting periods, but then again, they are the only English speaking magazine dedicated to "Nostalgics". I only knew about Nostalgic Hero. Thanks alot for the info on Vintage Auto and G-Works! Now I saw this magazine (Evolution Q Vol.1,2 & 3) and I was wondering if anyone has read them or even own them. If so, are they good?I can only see the cover and so can only presume? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks guys! And heres the site. Its in Japanese,so if any could do a rough translation about the content,it would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
