Aaron Neubauer Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 Has anyone used crow cam valve springs under a cam with .5" valve lift? Can anyone recommend a brand? Doesn't need to be all out race quality..... Quote
C.A.R. Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 Crow v/springs = die in a fire. I've broken a couple... If you want a decent spring, Performance Springs Australia are good. Kelford are good too. Quote
Whittie Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 I was going to start a new thread, but this one is perfect. Are those companies still the bee's knee's Lurch? I found 3 busted Crow valve springs on the motor when it was torn down and don't really want to stick the same rubbish back in again. It's a fairly mild cam too, big rev's but not a whole lot of lift really. Any suggestions on what brands or where to buy? Price not really an issue, but the cheapest supplier of the best springs is what I'm looking for. Has anyone had good experience with any specific online US websites? Cheers. Quote
Scoota G Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 I haven't broken a Crow valve spring and use 6500 rpm every week. Just sayin is all. Quote
Whittie Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 I'm not really unhappy and was going to put Crow back in again. The motor did 20,000 k's with a 7500rpm limit, so pretty amazing really. I think it was over-rev'd a few times tho before I got the MSD in and sorted properly, hence also a couple of wonky rods. However, broken springs are not really a whole lot of fun if the second one in the set lets go too... Quote
peter mc Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 HSD spring is what you need much better spring than crow . i have seen so many broken crow springs ,, not for the track in my book, the HSD will take 600th lift and is very stable good to 8000rpm Quote
Whittie Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Cheers Peter I did a quick google and couldn't find them mentioned anywhere, except HSD coilovers, which is not quite gonna fit Any idea where to get them from and what they cost? Quote
peter mc Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 SW motorsport has them in stock, he has them made so we can run the 600Th cams ,he also has ibarck springs top springs but costly ... the HSD springs are around $300 ring and check Quote

Car runs a fairly decent lift cam. Sell for $140 a set includes postage to any in Aus Quote
