OZZ240 Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Hi Guys, I have a L28 plus gbox sitting in my garage and I want to stick it in my 240Z, Don't know whether to use the standard 280ZX EFI or put the Carbs off the L24 (round top) on the L28 and if I do use the carb's off the L24 what needles will I need and where can I get them from?. Thanks Ian Quote
C.A.R. Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Use the 240Z carbs Needles: Wilson Carburettor Service 110 Queensberry St, Carlton, VIC 3053 p: (03) 93473036 Quote
RB30X Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Thats exactly what I did, check my project. Needles stay the same I'd imagine. You'll spend a lot longer trying to set up the wiring and ecu then carbs thats for sure. Quote
C.A.R. Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 The needles will have to change, as the L24 one's can't supply enough fuel throughout the rev range. I found this out the hard way... Quote
OZZ240 Posted August 7, 2009 Author Posted August 7, 2009 Thanks Guys...will give Wilson Carburettor Services a ring Quote
Aaron Neubauer Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 At what point will the round top SU's be a bottle neck for an engine? Ie. any idea what kind of camshaft, displacement increases and porting mods can they support? Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted August 8, 2009 Moderators Posted August 8, 2009 I know for a fact if you have a stroker they act as a rev limiter; nothing after 5500 rpm. Usually just a very mild cam and no other serious mods would be the limit. Good for putting around the city and/or Group Sc racing. Quote
