620Z Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 G'day I have finally gotten off my butt and entered the John Mott Sprint on the Sunday 26th. I was wondering if anyone else from here might be going. I haven't done a sprint for nearly 2 years and a few mods later. So should be interesting. I know a few Zeds will be there. Gordon and Dave Robertson will be there. Hopefully it will be a dry day and I can better my old time. Cheers Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted July 17, 2009 Moderators Posted July 17, 2009 I'll pobably be there Zedless, but there for a sticky beak... Quote
warrenz Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 I'll try and come for a sticky beak as well, The 240 needs a run (fine weather permitting) and if I can get my wife to drive the 240 as I temporarily cannot drive due to a medical issue Cheers Warren Quote
zedls1 Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 I haven't registered yet, might be too late but i was keen for a run on Sunday, will be first time at Sandown. Try out the new GoPro hero wide camera. John Quote
Bruce Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 I spoke to the event director last night and there is still spots available for both days. My car is getting a new cam at the moment, so if I get it back in time I will be entering for Saturday. There is a passenger session on Saturday afternoon. If the car is not ready I'll be a flaggy on both days, so I'll come over and say gday. cheers Bruce Quote
Bruce Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Have just spoken to the director. there is still plenty of spots left for both Saturday and Sunday (especially Sunday), and as it stands you are likely to get 7-8 runs if you want them. It is still not too late to enter cheers Bruce Quote
zedls1 Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Entered, I hope the rain stays away, first time at Sandown. John Quote
C.A.R. Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 Was a good day today - I think everyone got plenty of runs... JB had a bolt come a bit loose on the S14's engine crossmember(!), but some quick spanner work sorted that. Gordo had electrical gremlins which turned out to be a worn ignition barrel. Dimitri was soon on the case & successfully bypassed it which allowed Gordo to run faultlessly for the rest of the day. And I helped Craigo bleed his brakes (twice!) after his pedal became a tad spongy... And John ran faultlessly - just needs to get the clutch thrust bearing replaced! All in all, an enjoyable day Quote
Scando Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 Nice photos Lurch, looks like it was a good day. How did the Viper go? So who won the battle of the quickest Z for the day Quote
zedls1 Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 Nice work Lurch, i know i wasn't at the same pace as Gordo, Craig, Peter in their beasts, did u get one of me? John Quote
C.A.R. Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 I did John, but because I'm a numpty with the Camera they all came out blury Sorry mate I took a LOT more pics, but the ones I posted are the only ones that came out OK... Quote
zedls1 Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 That's cool Lurch. It was great to see the Zeds strutting their stuff. Can't wait for P.I end of August, hopefully get noisy thrust bearing/clutch sorted by then. John Quote
C.A.R. Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Good stuff! It's the weirdest thrust bearing noise I've ever heard! Quote
Scando Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Hi guys, while looking up the times from our race meeting on the weekend I found this: http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results.cgi?26/07/2009.SAND.Q1.I Thought you guys might be interested if you didn't already know where to find them. So who is who from AusZCar? I know who craig is and it looks like it was pretty close in the battle of the brothers. Who else is who? Quote
C.A.R. Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Peter Mac is the 'other' red L28 240Z. Gordon in his red 240z. John Toufas in his red RB25de 240Z. Jeremy Bevan is in the Green S14 (NDSOC member). There are a couple of other Zeds in there but I can't remember names... Quote
