okay im just wondering how the speedo is connected, i understand all the lighting, wiring, trip reset and etc. i just cant figure out how the main lead from the gearbox connects to the center of the speedo. im thinking maybe i have lost a joiner or bolt or something. are they ment to just screw together???

cheers tom

it just clips in.

though u kinda have to align it up. so liitle bit of twisting to get the speedo cable to slot into the gauge.

it should just click in once aligned.

The speedo cable itself threads onto the back of the speedo; make sure they both line up square and as you are tightening the large knurled threaded part on the cable place some light pressure as you are tightening the "nut" if they aren't square, it will just spin and go nowhere. Make sure the square speedo drive cable goes in right. What I do is pull the inner out about an inch, and make sure that goes into the speedo then square up the outer and start tightening; make sure you don't cross thread. Be patient...it has potential to be a real PITA!!

o sh!t, see i dont have that outside threaded nut bit thats ment to be on the cable unless its slid down the cable.

thanks for the help

It probably did slide down. It's like a plastic sleeve that threads onto the back of the speedo about half a turn.
