garvice Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 How much room between the engine and the hood is left by the castlemain kit? You know that the RB30s are higher blocks then any of the other RBs? Quote
waxhead Posted December 27, 2009 Author Posted December 27, 2009 Yeah thats a good point Garvice however the twin turbo engine doesnt have the piping going over the top of the engine and to one side, So it loses alot of height that way. The kit is designed to fit an rb30 into a z car so I belive it should be ok. Quote
garvice Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 Cool, just mentioned it as my mate went from a RB20 (with over head manifold) to RB25 (with side manifold) in an R32 skyline which fit. Then when he went to a RB30 with side manifold it was too high, had to remount it lower and further back. Quote
waxhead Posted December 27, 2009 Author Posted December 27, 2009 Nah your right on I know you have to be careful with heights , im not 100% sure if its going to clear but since the mounts were made to fit an rb30 i decided it was my best bet. Quote
Glen Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 It will fit no probs, using a highmount turbo on a rb30 in a zed and you might see some issues. Quote
waxhead Posted December 27, 2009 Author Posted December 27, 2009 Thanks for that Definitely not using a high mount, the twin N1 turbos will be just fine They will go to over 500hp and i really don't think that would be very controllable in the little zed. Quote

Better to be putting 500hp in a 2+2 than a 2 seater, chassis is stronger Quote
waxhead Posted January 21, 2010 Author Posted January 21, 2010 Got my covers back from being powder coated. Im very happy with the look, i dont want the motor looking to over done. I still have to do some cleaning on the intake manifold but its getting there Quote
