garvice Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Guys, I finally got my RX7 Series 8 FD seats installed this weekend. Here is how they look. Since I just posted it on HybridZ and that ordeal has taken me a good hour to do, I am just going to link you to the thread for all the technical info of the build. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?p=1024950#post1024950 Cheers Brad Quote

sexual_sushi Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Looks great, definitely worth the hassle. What are you planning to do with the rest of the interior? Quote

garvice Posted May 18, 2009 Author Posted May 18, 2009 verry nice they dont look at all out of place in the s30 Great stuff man, love your work. NIce work...they look factory issue Looks great, definitely worth the hassle. Thanks everyone, appreciate the comments. Next will probably be a full retrim (done the dash and the seats), but that wont be for a while. *heads out the door looking for a seat of series 8 seats* Those are from an s8 arent they? From memory s6 seats didnt come in leather, right? These are actually cloth with a vinyl back. They came in 6-8. I think the australian delivered cars may have had leather on the entire seat. Nice. What was the overall cost? Well, I got these seats for $600 delivered from melbourne, bolts where only a couple of dollars, another $50-100 in consumables (sealer, paint, grinding discs etc), steel I got from my mate for free (wouldn't cost more then $10-20 from a metal wholesaler), and labour for me and my mate was free. Well, I did help him out removing a slab). So all up around $700 - $750. I got a bit impatient with the seats though. I have seen them come up every now and again for around the $400 mark, I even saw a pair of leather ones (Leather would have needed retrim, not torn, but worn) sell on ebay for $250. Was kicking myself I didn't buy them. I guess it all comes down to how long your willing to look for. Brad Quote
garvice Posted May 18, 2009 Author Posted May 18, 2009 Forgot to mention. To do it legally, I will also have to get a mod plate. So add in the cost of getting it engineered, don't know how much that will cost. Brad Quote
