Scoota G Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 Is there a cockatoo nearby ? No seriously do you still have rear drums? Quote
S30Mike Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 maybe when its cold its not being as well lubricated? Quote
xa1973 Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 maybe when its cold its not being as well lubricated? Whats being lubricated??? Try some softer pads, does your setup have anti squeal shims? Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted April 8, 2009 Moderators Posted April 8, 2009 My car did that once....turned out to be the neighbours cat! Seriously, does it sound like its coming from the brakes or elsewhere? Does it vary in pitch when you play with the brake pedal or with vary the speed? Put in on youtube or something...it may help others to diagnose. Quote
lightmaster240z Posted April 8, 2009 Author Posted April 8, 2009 zedman just check no cats just the neighbours kids the sound does not vary with the brake or speed as fast as you can go down your drive way in reverse. xa 1973 it has got anti squeal shims that have been lubed scootag yes ti still very standard regards Bruce Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted April 9, 2009 Moderators Posted April 9, 2009 I'd remove the rear drums and check for a leaky wheel cylinder; sometimes the brake fluid swells up the shoes and makes them squeal. Quote
lightmaster240z Posted April 9, 2009 Author Posted April 9, 2009 Thank I will try that on the weekend finger crossed ;D Quote

lightmaster240z Posted June 13, 2009 Author Posted June 13, 2009 New pads fix the noise in the front pad. That and removal of black fur from around the drive side wheel. Never trust a mechanic again when he says these are the best pad for my car. I only trust Auzcars Dr Lurch now Quote
Zeddophile Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Ferodo pads FTW! Bendex die in a fire... Hooray, I'm not the only one who hates Bendix pads with a passion. We use mostly EBC at work, and I use QFM A1RM pads in my cars. The A1RM is actually a track day pad, but it works perfectly from cold (I'm using a twin master cyl pedal box with no booster too!), and stops incredibly well on both road and track. Yet to hear a squeal out of them, but they do make a fair bit of dust. Quote
C.A.R. Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 I used Bendex pads once - NEVER AGAIN! A mate of mine is running QFM pads in his 1600 & he loves em Quote
Scando Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 A couple of years ago I tried some Bendix ceramic pads in the rear of mine that were supposed to be the new great thing out at the time...............They lasted one race and were down to the metal................ Quote
