Razz Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 Looking around for a Bosch BVR -811 volt reg. it's a seperate unti from the alternator itself. Mine got cooked when the alt. died, and auto pro tell me that they've stopped making replacements Quote

maddos Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 Is it the one that lives behind the black bracket? If so I could probably dig one up. Quote
Razz Posted February 4, 2009 Author Posted February 4, 2009 thanks Mr240 for the list, i might give them a rind yep, that's the one, behind the bracket, with a six pin plug? i think? If you could, that would be excellent Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted February 4, 2009 Moderators Posted February 4, 2009 Just a quick note if you cant find another one, might be a good time to update to a 280ZX internally regulated alternator. Then you can ditch that volt reg and have a higher capacity unit! Just a thought... Quote
Razz Posted February 4, 2009 Author Posted February 4, 2009 hmmmmm... fair enough. how will that work with the existing wiring ie, lead to the reg at the moment? Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted February 4, 2009 Moderators Posted February 4, 2009 It plugs into the original wiring; just have to make a small loop back wire that goes onto the volt reg connector. I did something similar when I installed the RB engine with the Skyline alternator in the 240. Quote
