  1. just looking on Ebay International and found this. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/VOLTAGE-REGULATOR-DATSUN-260Z-73-74-NISSAN-620-PICKUP_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a1Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1318QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem360086903843QQitemZ360086903843QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories Might be worth a look
  2. If all else fails get a bigger hammer. The Threads are probably stuffed by now so swing away. It took my copper 2 lb hammer to persuade mine. Last price i was quoted in September from Nissan was $80.00 each .If that's still the case try MSA. $28.40 Us each http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/SSSC01C02/23-4240 . last time they sent me some they charges $31.00 Us Postage.
  3. Brad, What did they quote . Maybe we could do a group DEAL. It looks like i had better get mine done quick. Cheers
  4. Just got a reply about availability from Silver Mine Motors: ok i checked with my supplier and they don't have any in stock. recently it has been very hard to get these parts since they come off a car that if getting to be more rare. i can get someone to go to the local gunk yard and get six of them for me then i could send them to be professionally rebuilt but that would raise the price of each master cylinder by $25. that's the best i could do right now. i'm really sorry for the inconvenience. Still seems reasonable to me . Any Thoughts ? There stage three front kit is Non Ventilated. Stage 4 might be a closer match to Lurch's set. Looks like they use 300zx 4 lug rotors which used to sell in the us for about $100.00 US a pair on Ebay ( Drilled and Slotted ) .All they need is spacers like these.(No Machining) Might ask for just spacers and rotors? and get them in the MC Order? Different size ones if you have 240z hubs. Sach ,PM me as i know a wrecker in NSW who has Calipers i think. Sell them on Ebay and gets $120 ? a pair normally.
  5. The previous guys have given you great options that are worth pursuing but for mine additional larger lights would be the go as well as H4 conversion. Generally ,with normal lights you get what you pay for and with driving lights its all about the reflector (Shape and Quality). Larger round ones work best and 6 inch (deeper dish) is really the absolute minimum for decent lights. You will have clearance issues with the bonnet with lights that size i think. You will also have to think of providing power to the lights as the 240z alternator was underpowered by todays standards and the upgraded 260z alternator was not much better. 400 watts extra of lights might be stretching it. I have seen light bars from time to time on eBay in the States that were made to bolt on to the car in place of part of the front bumper. From memory this option was used by some of the Z guys that rallied in Australia in the 70's but there were not many z's as the 510 became the factory choice . I can't remember any rally cars at all in australia in the 70's and 80 with pods. .I have also seen a light bar on Ebay made for Z's that attaches from the area around the towing points and come up to be in front of the Valance /Bumper. (similar to the one on the celica photo) Not hard to make .The Aussie z in the 72 Southern Cross than ran second used a split bumper /lowered light bar arrangement? i think. Last Photo One like that will is on my long list of things to do . You could also mount something to the existing bumper to extend the lights out so you have bonnet clearance but in my experience these types of setup always vibrated to much without bracing but that was playing in the dirt and maybe on tarmac they would be acceptable. I am not a expert but i think that the safari cars used pods but the rally cars in Europe used the split bumper or the light bar coming from underneath as in the pictures below. To go with pods its more complicated . Pods are available like the ones from Topstage.com (www.topstage.com) under (custom and racing) or from ( www.roadraceengineering.com/lightpodinfo.html)are four lights pods and they look like they are made for Cibie Turini or Phiaa Inserts. . The lights are going to cost you at a guess $1000.00 Plus . You may find that many of the rally specialists stores in Australia Like GP cars also carry pods and if not the UK ones will have pods available but i fear that they might be the four light units. You could also obtain pods from a Ces Evans RallyGlass Products in Vic once upon a time. I think his Phone number is 632 94434. Not sure what is available from Ces. If you were handy with some MDF and Fiberglass you could make them yourself. I hope that this gives you some food for thought and as a last comment what are the laws regarding extra lights in Tassie. Queensland states only two additional lights. NSW and VIC give you four i think. Cheers. John
  6. Just wondering how the Sportmax rims fit in the wheel well. They all appear to be 15x8 with 0 offset(at least from JDMYard) and this would make them poke out over 50mm further than the standard mags. I have assumed that the standard mags (14 x 5.5) have an offset of +19 Don't mind rolling the inner lips of the guards but really don't want to fit flares at the moment . Anyone tried this combination and what size tyres were fitted?
  7. Has anyone managed to locate any. I believed that I had located 2 second hand but they don't have them anymore?
  8. Thanks One problem i see is that getting it from the US means the MC Bleed Thingy is on the wrong side. There is also the Price $260 AUD plus the Freight . Lets say $300.00 all up. Compared to $50.00 for a used one 280zx one and say $120.00 + to get a kit put in it. Would be interested to hear from those who have had the 280zx taken out to 1".What kit did you use and how much did it cost?
  9. Hi Guys, I'm a new member s be nice. I have been following this thread with interest as i have just completed the upgrading of my brakes with the ventilated Hilux calipers and Silvia s13 rear capilers and 300zx disks front and rear. I have found like many before that the brakes travel is to me way to long. Just rang around a few brake and parts stores and they tell me that both 280zx and patrol 1" MC's are NLA. javascript:void(0); It looks from the part number that the Patrol MC comes from a 60 Series 77-79 with MVAC. The 4WD wreckers seem to differentiate between the model with the Break Booster and without , not MVAC. Does anyone have any idea which One. The other option is of course a 280zx MC second hand but there seem to be two different types. Series 1 and Series 2. Can source either type for $50.00. From the pictures i can find it seems that the series one MC has separate reservoirs. Am i right and does anyone have any suggestion as to which 280zx would be more appropriate for my setup. For those that have had the 280zx taken out to 1" was that done by the brake shop. Did you ask them to put in a Patrol Kit. Ant advice would be welcome. Thanks. John
