Moderators Zedman240® Posted February 2, 2009 Moderators Posted February 2, 2009 If you find one from a DR30 or even a 2 door turbo R31 Skyline the R200 fits straigh in without any mods. The only thing to remember is the output flanges from the open R200 have to be reversed when installed in the LSD R200 (left to right). That can be checked with a vernier caliper using the depth measurement. Quote
C.A.R. Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 I didn't know they had to be reversed, Dimitri? That's a new one - cheers for the info Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted February 3, 2009 Moderators Posted February 3, 2009 Stan Holmes is the one to thank! He told me that when he checked my LSD and he was 100% right with that. Went home and measured and he was spot on. Quote
RBZ 260 Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Z31 turbo came with few variations to keep in mind. Z31 turbo 84-86 most had open wheelers. Z31 turbo 86-87 had optional mech type LSD. the last of the Z31 turbo aka Californian came with viscous type so different coupling to the diff. also u should look at these cars to expand the search RS30 RSR turbo skyline has mech type LSD R31 coupe RB20DET turbo has MECH type LSD S12 silvia RS Turbo (gazelle) has mech type LSD. all the above are R200 with MECH type LSD which apperently stock unis driveshaft fit in. the later z31 doesnt but uses similar setup to S13 and R32 just in long nose config. with R31 has to be the imported 2 door. OZ models came with borg warner diff and only LSD in GTS and some silhouettes. Quote
sexual_sushi Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 I found a good pdf documenting the conversion, it shows how to reverse them etc. I'll see if i can find it when i get home from work. Quote
