Glen Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Redline are selling theres for $210 which seems a bit pricey, is anyone using these linkages? if so what are they like? Quote
Mr240z Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Hey glen i used that kit .Installed about 8 years ago and haven,t touch them sence. I brought them from Lynx Corporation in NSW you can shop online http://www.lynxcorp.com.au/main.php?idx=home Quote
Toecutter Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 I've got the same but I'd personally go for something more heavy duty if I was to buy again. Check out RevZ this Sat at Gordos. Sulio Quote
Glen Posted December 5, 2008 Author Posted December 5, 2008 hmmm lynx doesnt have a price. Still trying to decide whether to modify the Lynx manifold or buy a redline mani and linkage for $540 and just be done with it.... decisions decisions. Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted December 5, 2008 Moderators Posted December 5, 2008 Hey Glen, Its not too hard to make your own linkage setup. Go to a bearing place that sell rod ends and bring the manifold with you and see which ends will fit to support the rod that runs the length of the manifold. If you need a hand I could help... Quote
Glen Posted December 5, 2008 Author Posted December 5, 2008 Thanks dimitri, you have helped me decide. just going to make our (myself and mik) own linkages and will drill and tap some holes for the linkage mounts with the lynx manifold. Im still trying to see why people dont rate the lynx manifold? is it because it isnt plug and play?? Quote
Toecutter Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 I think it's a bit flimsy. The arms are thin and prabaly better getting away from the plastic bits on the rose joint area. Sulio Quote
warrenz Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 I used the Redline linkage kit just recently. It was only $110 at Autobarn. But the bits that bolt on to the carby that connect to the arms are not as good as the Lynx one. However the Lynx rose joints are plastic whereas the Redline are good quality metal. The guy that fixed up my carby problems changed some of the fitting at the carby. I also had to make up a U-section to weld on to the rob so the Z linkage would connect, similar to the one on the SU setup. One top of the Redline kit i had to buy a 2nd return spring (for security) and 2 stops to prevent the rod from moving laterally which added another $18 to the bill. So, not straight forward but materials used by Redline are good quality and solid. Quote
